Another Good Night for ITV1 but BBC will be fighting back soon with a bumper series of Strictly Come Dancing - great stars again this year and looks like the one to watch and plus Robin Hood will be returning too

Like I said - I'm surprised the BBC haven't been on the phone. You're like a walking, talking press office.

Did you see the excellent share? Less people were watching at that time so naturally it was going to get less viewers. It's the same with all shows. Start Coronation Street an hour earlier and less people will tune in but it will still have a big chunk of the total viewing audience.

5.3m..(26%)..Casualty (BBC1)
5.3m..(25%)..Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Celebrity (ITV1)

Heres a puzzle. How come WWTBAM can get 5.3m versus Casulty but only 3.7m versus Holby last Tuesday night. Any insights welcome.

I thought Robin Hood was excellent, and 5-6M is not that bad a rating.

and how come Casualty can get 6.8mil for a one off sunday ep on a night when BBC 1 is notorious for performing badly but can only get 5.5mil in it's usual slot in the first few weeks of it airing...

Robin Hood got 5-7 Million on its run plus it will be before Strictly Come Dancing can't wait for it to be back - great line up this year - i hope it trounces the X Factor again

If ITV go ahead with scheduling all of their RWC games then tXF is in big trouble as it will be starting when the SCD first ep is in mid flow and will have to build an audience up against the final 30mins of SCD and either Robin Hood or Casualty.

Looking at the schedule on itv.com, I can't see any time when The X Factor won't be able to air at the usual 6.30ish time

Channel 4's top 3 shows were:

The Paul O'Grady Show (5pm) - 2.3 million
The Simpsons (6pm) - 2.3 million
Hollyoaks (6.30pm) - 2.2 million

Surprised to see Hollyoaks in the top 3, as well as a good leadin for an hour.

BBC1 dominates

The rest of the evening's viewing was dominated by BBC1's strong line-up of dramas.

EastEnders at 7.30pm gained 8.6m (40.3%) with Holby City following on with 5.6m (24.2%) at 8pm.

The concluding episode of the Double Dare storyline in Silent Witness at 9pm had 5.9m (24.9%).

ITV1 devoted most of its peaktime line-up to live coverage of Liverpool's Champions League group game against FC Porto.

The entire coverage between 7.30pm and 10pm averaged 4.5m (19.4%), slightly above the channel's slot average of 4.1m (18.6%).

The actual match, which kicked off at 7.45pm and ended in a one-all draw, was supported by 5.1m (21.8%) with the game hitting a high of 5.6m (23.9%) in the 15 minute slot from 9.15pm.

Anybody know how the Chelsea match on ITV4 or the scotland rugby match on ITV3 did last night? There was sport on 3 out of 4 ITV channels for most of last night
