I hope so. It actually seems that both shows are doing that already. X Factor (apart from various publicity stunts) is always making changes (some which I don't like) and from what I hear, SCD has made quite a few changes this year as well (again, changes which will split opinion).

X Factor's equivalent show (performances at the judges houses) last year got 6.3m IIRC. The one that got over 8 million was for the announcement of the top 12. That show goes out tonight and I very much doubt it will come close to the ratings of last year.

Good ratings for BBC1 last night more consistent with Strictly , Robin Hood and Casualty all getting good figures the only high rated programme on ITV1 was The X Factor and even Ant and Dec didn't make a good viewership

thanks rizstar !

Ant & Dec's Afternoon Takeaway did start at 5.30pm though! The earliest its ever been shown!

Glad The X Faxtor beat Strictly Come Dancing! I wasn't expecting it!

According to the BBC, SCD was ahead when the two shows were on together which has often been the case.

ITV will be delighted with that figure for the rugby on a Saturday night.

Bodes well for next Saturday's England v France encounter.

Yes, ITV's schedule looks quite weak against BBC1. Between Robin Hood, SCD, Lottery and Casualty, BBC has a night of solid ratings. Does anyone know what ITV will be showing this year alongside X Factor, apart from Millionaire and I'm a Celeb?

Yes, that was to be expected with the 30 minute head start. The positive for X Factor was that it gained ground on SCD towards the end to the extent that it was almost level for a while and overtook it at 1920.(although for the final 5 minutes SCD got a boost ahead).

That didnt rate great though, the first series with Ant and Dec got about 8mil but last years only got 4mil or so.

I think you're thinking of Gameshow Marathon. Last year, All Star Family Fortunes took the place of Millionaire between the two X Factor shows. It managed about 6.5m usually, I think.

ITV still have to fill the gap left by Afterlife at 9.30pm as well.

yes the 52% share for the rugby was terribly poor. ITV must be worried that England vs France next Saturday for 2.5 hours might not get more than 60% share

Can I just ask if you watch anything on ITV? Because you seem to have real hatred for it.

I watch programmes because I want to be entertained. I couldn't give a fig what channel their on, or what ratings they get, as long as I enjoy them, that's all that matters to me. I am however, quite interested in ratings

I agree. That particular poster seems intent on bigging up the BBC whilst simultaneously slamming ITV. Even when they get decent figures it's "not bad" or "average" yet if it's BBC1 it's "amazing" and "a good, strong night".

The fuuny thing is, that on seeing the rating for TXF and SCD last night, my first thought was that it really puts into perspective just how well Doctor Who is doing ratings wise.
My second thought was that if I were either Ant or Dec, I would be more than a little upset at the way Saturday Night Takeaway was being bounced around the schedules.

Lol, you say the same biased thing every week

Robin Hood's 5.9m is good but Rugby World Cup's 5.3m is poor?!

I tend to think that as angry as Ant and Dec might be, Simon Cowell must be fuming. One of ITV's biggest shows being split over 2 days, shifted around on a weekly basis and worst of all, taking a week of when there would be no problem fitting it in around the RWC.

I think it will cost it alot of momentum against SCD.

Could work either way. Next Saturday will be dominated by the afternoon football vs Estonia and the evening rugby vs France. I think X Factor would rate lower as a result because people will be either out or taking a break between big events. We will see how SCD does.
