I thought My Boy Jack was a first rate piece of television drama, and will have delighted millions of viewers. I think you're spinning down expectations, George. It will get 8m viewers easily, and then some.

BBC-1
6.50 Strictly Come Dancing - 8.51m (35.0%) - Peak 9.87m (19:25)
7.35 BBC News - 6.00m (24.2%)
8.00 Antiques Roadshow - 5.40m (19.9%)
9.00 Learners - 5.54m (22.4%)
10.20 BBC News - 3.00m (15.0%)

BBC-2
6.50 Remembrance Sunday - 1.65m (6.9%)
7.50 Coast - 1.97m (7.6%)
8.00 Top Gear - 7.39m (25.4%)
9.00 Long Way Down - 3.76m (14.8%)
10.00 Match Of The Day 2 - 2.75m (14.4%)

ITV-1
7.00 Emmerdale - 6.60m (26.5%)
7.30 Coronation Street - 10.31m (39.8%)
8.00 Heartbeat - 8.14m (29.5%)
9.00 My Boy Jack - 5.68m (25.6%)
10.00 ITV Weekend News - 2.45m (18.7%)

Nothing too unexpected, except Top Gear doing better than exected, and AR holding up well. The ratings for My Boy Jack and Learners were pretty much what i thought, although i thought Learners might be a little lower. Can see Cranford being a big hit next week - would be nice if it beats I'm a Celeb.

I made a mistake when I posted this last night:

9. The X Factor 18/08/07 - 9.79m
10. Comic Relief - The Big One 16/03/07 - 9.73m

11. Walking the Dead 07/01/07 - 9.51m
12. Emmerdale 08/01/07 - 9.38m
13. Strictly Come Dancing 10/11/07 - 9.3m ******** Overnight Rating
14. UEFA Campisons League 01/05/07 - 9.29m
15. New Tricks 21/05/07 - 9.25m
16. BBC News 01/07/07 - 9.24m

Note: no other show has got over nine million viewers.

Edit: The only show I think that will get over nine million this year and enter this list is I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. With Strictly Come Dancing, The X Factor, Doc Martin and EastEnders (hopeful) improving there place on this list.”

A further two shows did get nine million viewers, which are:

17. Wild At Heart 21/01/07 - 9.00m
= Match Of The Day 12/09/07 - 9.00m

So apart from these 18 shows, no other show got over nine million viewers.

Even more amazing when you consider no new episodes of 'Allo 'Allo were broadcast in 1990, so it attracted 14.24m viewers for a repeat! I think it was for an episode from the 1989 series repeated on a September or October Monday evening at 8.30pm, against World in Action.

Sunday night is a brilliant night for the terrestrial channels at the moment, particularly in the 7.00-9.00pm period.

21 million people were watching BBC ONE, BBC TWO and ITV1 last night between 8.00 and 9.00pm.

Must mean slim pickings for non-terrestrial channels then at that time. Sky 1 has Cirque de Celebrite, ITV2 is re-running X Factor, Virgin 1 who knows? BBC3 dunno either

I wonder if I'm A Celebrity could get over 10 million in the Doc Martin slot for ITV1 tonight? Without personal predictions, I reckon Corrie could have got close to 11 million for its 7.30pm episode and over 10 million for the 8.30pm one. EastEnders should at a push hit over 10 million viewers at 8.00pm - Monday seems to be the best day for soaps and TV, as well as Sunday.

It didn't. That was between 7.15pm and 7.30pm. The show went off the air at 7.20pm.

Wow, 7.4m for Top Gear! That's amazing, and with BBC1 still getting a credible 5.4m - AND that's against Heartbeat's 8m! Running AR at 8pm was a masterstroke of scheduling - boosting BBC1's audience against one of ITV's most mystifyingly popular programmes whilst not harming Top Gear's a jot.

Three different audiences I guess, but that's a stonking great combined audience - easily the one point in the week when the nation is watching telly.

Sad to see My Boy Jack didn't pull the great audience it deserved, but I suppose it was a competitive slot. Learners did much better than I expected, and Long Way Down seems to have found a strong loyal audience - running it straight after TG makes perfect sense.

Check the ratings, 'The One Show' gets over 4 million viewers, and is up against Emmerdale. Not bad and I for one like the programme.
