Thats Right. It was The State Within at 9pm, which also tanked in the ratings

That still got 2.7 though, at its lowest.

Multi-channel:

This year - 38.5%
Last year - 34.7%

So multi-channel continues to grow very strongly, despite the approach of DSO. Looks like multi-channel may soon achieve a 40% share for a whole week.

It has previously achieved 40% on individual days but I don't recall it achieving 40% for a whole week.

Corrie didn't do spectacularly well last night, did it? For some reason its audience share is always very low on a Sunday - even when it was getting over 10 million running after the Strictly Come Dancing Results it's highest share was 39% I think.

I think BBC ONE made a mistake in commissioning another adaptation of Sense and Sensibility - after the success of Cranford it was bound to be a let down as the 1995 film starring Emma Thompson is already the most well-known version in the popular imagination. Lark Rise To Candleford might still do well next week though.

Well it seems yesterday was a brilliant day for More4:

Quote:
“M4 (Individual Averages):
17:45 Come Dine With Me 823,900, 18:15 Come Dine With Me 895,700, 18:45 Jamie at Home 390,300, 19:15 The Wild Gourmets 203,000, 20:00 Born Survivor: Bear Grylls 206,200, 21:00 Secret Millionaire 311,200, 22:00 Bodyshock: Half Ton Man 286,000, 23:00 Father Ted 243,500, 23:45 Father Ted 199,400”

Source: C4 Sales

Not dipping below 199,400 once between 5.45pm and 12.15am is no mean feat.

That does include +1 ratings I believe, but that's unlikely to be very many due to More4+1's absence from Freeview.

Why on earth is Come Dine With Me rating so highly? Is it brand new or repeats?

Hardly surprising that it didn't do brilliantly on Saturday night given that much of it's target audience would be out!

According to C4 Sales the repeat of Saturday's main show on Sunday was watched by 253,700 (including E4+1 ratings) which is fairly good for a repeat.

Therefore the total number of viewers for Saturday's highlights show was 882,700 which is still very good for a multi-channel programme.

I expect that figure is a little below what C4 were hoping for though.

Well remembered!

Jack of Hearts attracted 1.9 million back in September 1999.

As mentioned in this Media Guardian report from February 2006:

FA Cup mainly giving BBC1 the big numbers plus BBC1 always does well in the mornings & early afternoons on Saturday anyway.

The Bill will be revamped in April if figures don't improve, possibly meaning either...

Back to the soapy stuff that viewers seemed to like...

Wednesday 8pm-9pm
Saturday 9pm-9:30pm

Would it work?

The Bill doesent need a revamp in my opinion, it needs a fixed slot with a certain given number of eps each week and given a fair shot to get good figures ie not up against EE.

Sorry I post as if this is actually happening, this is simply an idea of mine.

I mean, it's doing nothing where it is.

And The Times DID report that The Bill might be going in for 30 minutes, but I think it was only a rumour.
