Did anyone else feel that Alan looked bored with sharing the stage last night? Maybe he prefers his own shows now he's had a taste of it.

Does anybody think Rock Rivals will end up moving slots before its run is finished? 2.8m in the 9pm hour must be dire. I have been watching the show but it's not as good as the previews or hype suggested it to be - I thought we'd see more backstage stuff at the actual show rather than it being all about the judges and contestants personal lives.

It's only 8 weeks. If it makes it to week 4 above 2.5m then I think it will see it out in the current slot. I think your issue with it might be why Simon Cowell pulled out. Either that or he could tell it was going to bomb.

It's really dire after 9pm for ITV. I remember on the Big Brother 8 Ratings Thread in the summer saying ITV might have had a lucky escape as they considered buying the show when it was getting 4.7m for BB7 as oppose to the 3.8m for BB8. But now, in the middle of March, even BB8 (a summer show) would have easily beaten ITV's line-up at 9pm and 10pm and got those brilliant demographics as well.

ITV will be hoping The Fixer can hold on this week because if it can stick above 4.5m it is a decent success to take away from a difficult winter.

Who knows. ITV have stuck it out with MW/EB though Rock Rivals is going to have to contend with The Apprentice new run starting this coming Wednesday which may give TA a convenient springboard.

Another snippet, it looks as though "Id Do Anything" is to continue the trend of results on Sunday as its scheduled for 7.30 on 30/3/07 with the long put off Casualty 1907 starting at 9.00 also.

Its very strange how the transmission of Casualty 1907 was deferred for so long. Since the script is based on events which happened in 1907 it cant easily be renamed as Casualty 1908. Instead it now has a rather odd 101 year anniversary.

The hunch must be that it was deferred because it isnt much good. They also postponed The Last Enemy, although that was critically reasonably well received even if it flopped in the ratings.

It's Easter, people were on holiday, those that weren't were gridlocked on the roads,whilst others were waiting for trains that had been cancelled due to engineering work, others further north could not move due to the heavy snowfall, and were unable to get back from the supermarkets in time.

It's quite interesting that it looks like ITV1 actually beat BBC1 in peaktime by a small percentage. ITV1's early peaktime performance is solid, then Duel performs averagly, but after that the post 9pm schedule is awful and has been since January. They really need to sort it out-films, one offs, Thank God You're Here all have been failures and they seem to be really struggling-and i doubt Pushing Daisies will perform any better tbh.

Though saying that BBC1 aren't doing much better with Love Soup and with I'd Do Anything results moving to Sundays, it looks like it'll continue to perform poorly. Personally I think IDA results should be on Saturdays, because something getting 5.5 million isn't going to boost the Sunday schedule at all, whereas on a Saturday people might keep BBC1 on out of habit, instead of switching over.

The lack of competition in the Saturday 9pm hour is obviously having benefits on FIVE as they are reguarly beating ITV in the 9pm slot, plus CH4 & BBC2.

ITV's schedule is very interesting next week with a family movie premiere airing for the majority of peaktime and Duel is moving to the 9pm hour. I think ITV are trying really hard to fid the right schedule and not get humiliated like many Saturdays last year. Though somehow I can't see Beat The Star and Celeb Mr & Mrs being bit hits for ITV, and with Harry Hill finishing soon, they could find themselves in trouble.

Does anyone know before the live shows which day ITV are airing BGT on, is it Sat or Sun???

Maybe ITV1 averaged more than CSI's 2.6m over the course of the 9 - 10pm hour, anyway.

I think it's time for ITV to take a step back and take stock. Although ambitious, the removal of the soaps has seriously damaged their weekend ratings. Although Dancing On Ice performed fantastically, without it being shown on Saturday, the night's schedule suffered terribly. It's not as though BBC1 have exactly been putting up a fight either.

Either they need to reintroduce popular gameshows of old - I don't think Celeb Mr and Mrs is going to cut it TBH - to cover the loss of live shows to Sunday, or revert to 2007, and place the live shows back onto a Saturday night, with Emmerdale and Coronation Street in their old Sunday night slots. That'll at least give ITV some foothold back on Saturday night again. Though it will be interesting to see how 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' does next weekend.

I bet Sky Sports did well today with two huge footie games on.

I think ITV have been fine up till now on weekends. Saturday nights have lacked a big hitter like DOI or XF, but that's OK when the BBC don't have one either. With Harry Hill, You've Been Framed, Primeval and Ant and Dec, they have been delivering solid ratings about 6m. The main problem for weekends has been things tailing off, starting with Duel and getting worse. Sunday nights have done really well with DOI, Lewis and Wild At Heart bringing at least 4 hours a week of 8m plus ratings. The soaps have settled into their new timeslots.

The key issue is that they don't have the material to sustain the current "weekend entertainment" idea. BGT doesn't seem to be starting as soon as I had expected and hasn't even been advertised yet. Ant and Dec are done, Harry Hill can't have long left and the BBC are just about to take off with Doctor Who, Casualty and I'd Do Anything all getting good ratings. I don't think IDA will do well with its Sunday results show, but what do ITV have for Saturdays?

Thing is they only have three live shows for a four show cycle, they do need another to fill in the gap now, which'll probably last until late April/May time when BGT may return. Sunday night's may just cope with films on the Dancing On Ice slot, again with BBC having little to contend with. But on Saturday's they need something big and bold, advertised like they've promoted the midweek schedules. 'Pushing Up the Daisies' might be able to support the ratings, but without, as you said, Ant and Dec on now and Harry Hill coming to the end of the series, they don't seem to even have any early evening programmes left which'd pull in good figures.
