What about Bonekickers. I heard that is scheduled for sometime in the Spring, and Waking the Dead is back in a couple weeks. Presumably that will be scheduled Sunday/Monday.

I think we should have more smileys in the ratings reports.

I think it might have been a touch-and-go decision to give Holby Blue a second series, and I think it might be touch-and-go over a third.

Waking the Dead is back in mid-April. Presumably that will fill two 9pm slots for a few weeks.

I can't wait until Waking The Dead comes back. One of the best British shows out there in my opinion. I hope it does well, ratings wise.

I think we also need to take into account that ITV saved up/moved forward a lot of new shows for their relaunch and so have been starting more new shows than the BBC this year.

The BBC still have started quite a lot of new shows though - they are just spreading them out across the year. I wonder if ITV will 'run out' of new shows before long because they must have spent quite a lot so far this year.

Waking the Dead has long been a ratings winner, though in its last run was trimmed by the previous series of Trial and Retribution being scheduled against it.

And there was me thinking I was on George's "ignore list". Perhaps he's reinstated me? I hope so.

Babylon will inevitably fall back next week having increased its ratings to 5.2m this week, no doubt about that. It will bounce back when there's no football on.

I think A2A suffered from the last two episodes being shown either side of Easter, with lots of people being on holiday last week and this. They should have started it 2 weeks sooner.

As for Dr Who being brought forward to 6.20pm, can't say it's the end of the world. It will presumably do better getting a head start on Britain's Got Talent if that is going out at 7pm on ITV1 - unless they now bring that forward in a tit-for-tat response?

Dr Who's ratings suffer from being shown from April-July, instead of during the dark winter nights. The 2nd most popular show on TV in 2007, 13.5m at Christmas, and yet it will be lucky to average 7.5m over its summer run. Madness.

Torchwood got 2.4m (10.2%), and Benidorm won the 9pm slot last night. Torchwood: Declassified which followed the episode got 1.5 million viewers. Don't have any other ratings.

The Big Bang Theory would work better being an E4 only show as it would easily pull in 500,000 viewers, as CH4 are doing with Brothers & Sisters and also Five are moving 30 Rock to FiveUS or Fiver, due to poor ratings.

I think ITV2 will have expected a lot more for Gossip Girl the way they promoted it on ITV1 and as it was part of XXL Thursday.”

I thought the ratings would be a lot better for gossip girl, its been advertised everywhere - from every page i look at on the net, to every type of show on itv.

I think they should have it on at 9, as the target audience includes younger teens, to 30 somethings. I also think with so much trailing of a program, you need to have a time and date in the ad too. Same for pushing daisies - they have a date, why not use it.

Finally, it is repeated tonight at 7, so may do well?

Good. That will encourage ITV to stick with comedy. They now have 4 very good comedy shows: Harry Hill, Al Murray, Moving Wallpaper & Benidorm. Hope they find more hits to add to these.

Benidorm shows that it pays to keep the faith. Remember Cold Feet launched with 3.5m as well

To be honest, I couldn't understand why so many people were giving Benidorm such low predictions in the Ratings Game thread, whereas I think I gave it around 4.5m for week one.

Ditto. I think people were basing it on what Moving Wallpaper was getting but I think both are very different shows, and Benidorm probably has a wider appeal than MW.

There will be new series of both sometime this year.

Yes, and Benidorm did well last year too.

Don't get carried away. TV Burp and Happy Hour are entertainment shows not comedies, and Moving Wallpaper was virtually a laugh-free zone and has only been recommissioned to save ITV face after being so massively hyped.

So 1 decently good comedy show, yes.

As for "more hits", putting Moving Wallpaper (2m viewers and lukewarm/mixed critical reception) in that particular category IS funny...

TV Burp's not a comedy programme???
