Great ratings for Headcases, despite all the negativety.

Does anyone know the ratings Dancing with the Stars is getting weekly on UKTV Gold?

What on earth were expectations?! And those 16-34 numbers look really good.”

Yeah with population our size those numbers are good.

Just look at the viewing figures in the states, where they have a population that greatly exceeds ours

1 "Pie-lette" 13.03
2 "Dummy" 10.28
3 "The Fun in Funeral" 9.86
4 "Pigeon" 9.67
5 "Girth" 8.57
6 "Bitches" 8.83
7 "Smell of Success" 7.52
8 "Bitter Sweets"10.18
9 "Corpsicle" 6.85

The Uk has around 20% of the people of the US, yet the viewing figures in the uk were 45% of the US ones. So infact it really did over twice as well on the pilot.

Will be intresting to see what viewing numbers it picks up next week, but with a strong lead in I wouldnt expect a drop too far

Not too well. Around the 100,000 mark.

I wonder how well News at Ten will do with Britain's Got Talent live shows as its inheritance.

Interesting that CDWM does well on More4, the show is sort of Channel 4's equivalent of Masterchef but I worry that the 22 part hour long episodes may hurt the series in the long run as it does work better as a daily show than a weekly show.

Now that the soaps are gone from Sundays, does anyone think that BBC One or ITV1 should commission a Sunday Night Family drama for the 7pm slot. With the success of Doctor Who, Robin Hood and Primeval on Saturday Evenings I think a Sunday drama would attract similar ratings. Maybe the BBC should put Merlin on Sundays to see if it attract a decent audience.

OFCOM report re TV audience data

Anyone interested in TV viewing figures should look at slides 27 to 39 (28/197 to 40/197) of the OFCOM report below.

This gives a mass of data re TV audiences, including data:

- by platform
- by "portfolio" (eg all BBC channels)
- by age

Just one example:

In Cable/Satellite homes:

- 49% of viewing is to the "main" 5 channels
- 11% of viewing is to PSB "portfolio" channels (ie BBC3/ITV2/E4/Five US etc)
- 41% of viewing is to other channels (ie not owned by BBC/ITV/C4/Five)

(I know figures add to 101% due to rounding!)

In Freeview homes:

- 72% of viewing is to the "main" 5 channels
- 18% of viewing is to PSB "portfolio" channels (ie BBC3/ITV2/E4/Five US etc)
- 10% of viewing is to other channels (ie not owned by BBC/ITV/C4/Five)

Do have a look - it's very interesting:

Thats interesting - everybody could see that the ratings for the main 2 channels seem to be up but the question is why. I thought lighter nights etc meant fewer watching hence lower ratings - so what happened Saturday.

Also do you have the all hours shares? - C4 sales say ITV1 around 19% BBC1 around 23% but the figure for ITV looks a little low to me.

My Family's repeat was clearly a good idea, 4 million is excellent for a show less than 72 hours old.

Despite the misleading title Casualty 1907 has no connection whatsoever to the Holby franchise. It is in reality a drama documentary since it features real doctors, nurses and patients using their actual names and life stories all taken from the diaries and archives of the real London hospital during 1907/8.

Worth remembering that My Family was not a repeat in Wales. The Sunday screening was its first run for us.

This will be its main slot for the entire run as BBC One Wales has a new series of its own show, Belonging, in]the Friday slot.

This might elevate the Sunday 'repeat' figures.

Anyone know what Britain's Got More Talent on Saturday night got? Also the repeat of Pushing Daisies yesterday afternoon? Thanks

Does this mean that when the Friday official figure of My Family comes out, it might be lower than the overnight? Because barb will deduct the Scottish, Welsh and Irish viewers from the total because they watched other shows.

This means, that Benidorm could end up having a higher official rating than My Family.

STV showed Benidorm at 10pm last Friday, to confuse things further

Good night for ITV last night-it seems moving there 2 hour dramas forward an hour works and hits CAN be found in the 10pm slot as seen by Headcases-ITV must be relieved that it didn't shed any viewers and that they could have found another comedy success.

As ITV1's all hours Sunday share was 15% they must have performed awfully in daytime, but what can be expected from repeats of films, BGT and Pushing Daisies. Interestingly BGT pulled in 0.8 million and a 4% share on ITV2 and BGMT on 1.1 million-excellent figures-probably almost the same as the terrestrial repeats. It seemed to also pull up ITV2's share greatly as it was on 2.7%! ITV would have beniffeted putting a DOI spin off on ITV2 after the main show.

BBC1 seemed to perform quite poorly in peaktime, there share obviously boosted by the Marathon. The biggest shock of yesterday was how much Casualty 1907 fell by-even though it was up against Foyles War. This tells me that the same audience are watching both shows and that the viewers who were watching Casualty 1907 are staying loyal to Foyles War-a show which they would probably have watched since it started. BBC1 seem to be struggling with series in the Sunday 9pm slot as that seems to be where the flops are occurring-The Last Enemy and now Casualty 1907.

In the 7pm slot there was hardly any competition at all-the music show on ITV wold have got around 2.5/3 million had it been up against greater competition and I would guess many of the My Family viewers were second watchers with the children who had gone to bed by 9pm on Friday.

Tonight's ratings will be interesting-I can see BBC1 picking up the honours with BBC2's new series starting averagly with around 1.5 million, CH4 on 1 million, The Fixer finishing quietly with about 3.5 million and FIVE's documentary turning out to be a surprise hit on around 2.5-3 million. Everyone I've been talking today have been talking about it.

If it can get a lead in of 8-9m, it SURELY can't go below the 4m mark tbh.

The Liverpool match peaked at 10m the other week and News at Ten still got its usual 2m.

I haven't done one of these for a while, but my predictions for tonight:

Coronation Street (7.30pm, ITV1) ~ 10.5 million viewers; 46% audience share

EastEnders (8.00pm, BBC ONE) ~ 10.2 million viewers; 41% audience share

Coronation Street (8.30pm, ITV1) ~ 9.9 million viewers; 40% audience share

Waking the Dead (9.00pm, BBC ONE) ~ 6.3 million viewers; 26% audience share

The Fixer (9.00pm ITV1) ~ 3.7 million viewers; 12% audience share

Good figures for the My Family repeat, although as George pointed out, it was a first screening for many people.

I don't think we'll be seeing a 'Casualty 1908', though.
