Thanks for posting them in the forum too. I think that the finale will hit 7 million, peaking at 8 million to be honest. First, ratings are nearly double last series, and it is on BBC One.

Agree with most of your post, but I suspect that, had PIA started on BBC2, it wouldn't have even got 2m. That being said, perhaps there's a case for putting the first episode of something of a more PSB nature on BBC1, then shifting it to BBC2 for the rest of the series...

What's more, every word he says about the scheduling of LoM is true (alas). I like it when he says they p*ssed it up the wall. Couldn't have put it better myself.

Somebody really ought to be picking up their P45 for the abysmal scheduling of the show. As he says, it makes the mind boggle, it really does.

Yes I should say a general thanks to everyone who obtains the information-especially the detailed stuff.

Well my prediction for The Apprentice was right - 5.5 million viewers.

I think City Lights probably will not be recommissioned; the concept began in 2004 as a one-off Christmas special, then it went on to a full series but the new series has changed the format and I think probably lost the interest of some of the audience. Also The Apprentice is an audience-builder, so anything ITV1 put in that slot is going to struggle - they should have put City Lights up on another day of the week and it would have performed better.

Fantastic News!

ITV2's new Katie and Peter: the Next Chapter attracted 943,000 viewers, a multichannel share of 5.3% at 9pm last night

It nearly beat Channel 4's drama Secret Life which had 1.1 million (5.3%) from 9pm over 90 minutes

Wow I was thinking 300,000+ at the most! I guess ratings will drop though.

It did particularly well in the 15-34 age bracket with a 11.3% share.

Previously Jordan and Peter: Marriage and Mayhem on 14 October 2005 got 1.3 million (8.6%)

It's amazing how they manage to pull in the viewers. I don't understand why anybody would be interested in watching them.

Multichannel seems to be very strong at the moment. Does anyone know what EastEnders got? It was a great episode but I assume it was probably in the 7-8 million mark again?

It's funny that when Have I Got News For You moved to BBC1 it got about 5m which was poor back then.

However, it's audience has remained stable at about that mark, and now because everything else has gone down, getting 5m is really good.

Its core audience has probably stayed around 4.5-5m throughout its life, on BBC2 and BBC1, but I think it's harsh to say its ratings didn't go up on moving to BBC1 - I recall it consistently pulled 6-7m, a significant boost, before falling away. Then when Angus went, the first few series with the guest presenters saw ratings go back up again to the 7m mark, but with dips to 5m with some more obscure/less interesting presenters.

I think Anne Robinson and Jeremy Clarkson have been most popular so far - not surprisingly compared to some less well-known politician or comedian.

The summer series suffers once Big Brother starts and the autumn series suffers once IACGMOH starts - expect figures of 4-5m tops by then.

I thought that Edwardian in Colour was one of the most fascinating and interesting programmes I've seen for a very long time

Understandably, Doctor Who's ratings are lower than usual due to the early start time, and good weather- although it was still the most watched show yesterday. Interesting to see that Any Dream Will Do lost nearly a million viewers when head to head with Grease is the word, which only lost 0.1 million viewers.

Well that's not quite true - Grease's average was helped by the fact it ran for 25 minutes longer - and consequently it's audience went up a lot when Any Dream finished. And Grease was helped by it's later start time.
15 minute averages for the two shows:
-----------BBC1/ITV1
7.30-7.45: 4.8/3.8
7.45-8.00: 5.0/3.9
8.00-8.15: 5.5/4.0
8.15-8.30: 6.1/4.2
8.30-8.45: ----/5.0
8.45-9.00: ----/4.5
