House is doing very well on Five. Am I correct in thinking that Hustle's ratings have decline this series? I'm sure it used to get 5-6 million but now seems to be hovering under the 5 million mark - perhaps it will be axed as I've heard discussion that its running out of steam.

Last night by the way EastEnders had 8 million viewers and a 42% share of the audience.

Tonight's football will definitely get lower than 8 million. If this year's Champions League final surpassed 8 million, then maybe or possible a qualifier will get lower.

Fantastic ratings for the footie - friendlies don't usually do that well, probably Becks' return and being Brazil added a few. The BBC will miss those matches when they go to ITV.

Any ideas what friday night project and ugly betty got?

That's brilliant for a friendly. More people watched this than the Champions League Final.

Don't know exactly, but they got below 3.3 million.

The actual match averaged 9.5m on ITV1, exactly the same as last night, and 1.2m watched it on Sky. And BBC1 Scotland were showing EastEnders/River City/Holby Blue so that will push the final figure down slightly. Still brilliant ratings though!

The return of Becks seems to have brought in many more viewers. Big Brother needs to get more men in as soon as possible. Both soaps suffered big dips too.

The friendly matches are going to Setanta as part of the new deal. ITV will only have the competitive matches.

WRONG. According to the FA website, ITV and Setanta will both share the home friendlies.

Brilliant ratings indeed! I wonder if the BBC regret not going the extra mile to keep the deal! Especially as it seems to have even dimmed the bright ratings light that is Coronation Street.

Most BBC shows don't get 9 million so they should have tried harder to hold onto the football in my opinion.

I agree, and obviously ITV are going to make the most out of what is arguably the best football contract terrestrial tv can get. The England story is, good or bad, always big box office.
The other point is that there are millions of football fans and many of them licence fee payers who want their money spent on something they value-perhaps the BBC should remember that when it brings out the lame excuse that they couldnt possibly have spent so much on the contract for fear of annoying those very same licence fee payers.

nvrgot, whos's guessing 3.8 for grease, 6.3m for any dream will do and 7.8m for dw.

I agree - its a shame I prefer football on the BBC and they are going to suffer in the ratings - but Michael Grade knew what they were going to bid so you could argue that it was inevitable ITV would get it when he went there.

Corrie really dropped in the ratings - EastEnders has been getting more than 7.5 million for the past two weeks.

Didn't Eastenders get 4.4 million recently when it was up against football or something like that anyway?
So 7.5 million is pretty good, no?
