8m?

If 9m tuned in to watch gobby Jade evicted from CBB on Friday night following the media interest last week, I don't see why TG can't peak at something similar, although the average for the hour will be lower.
I've just noticed that Top Gear will be up against the Big Brother final on Sunday. That might dent its ratings.

Sunday night will be very competitive - i'd imagine Celebrity Big Bother, Wild at Heart and Top Gear will all get similar sized audiences - perhaps between 6-7m. BBC1 was launching it's new drama Rough Diamond, but have sensibly decided that's a bad idea and have given in - showing Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Then from 9 there's Waking the Dead, Trial and Retribution, The Wierd World of Louis Theroux and the end of BB. I reckon BB will probably just win, beating Waking the Dead.

Tonight with Trevor McDonald continues to perform well in a very tough slot. It must be the pulling power of Anne Widdecome.

I think CBB has peaked now though. It got 6-7m for the final last year, but that (I think) was in the traditional Friday night slots. Not sure how it will perform over two hours on a Sunday.

If the Beeb push TG/Hammond this weekend in the press etc (and they may feel it's too sensitive to push it too hard), then it should deliver a decent return. They've effectively cleared any competition from BBC1 by scheduling Robin Hood Prince of Thieves yet again.

My preliminary view (I may revise this nearer the time!):

BBC1: RH:PoT 3.7m
BBC2: Top Gear 7m average (peak during Hammond 'piece' of 8m)
ITV1: Wild at Heart 7.2m
Ch4: CBB Final 5.3m (starting low at 8pm, peaking at 6.5m at end)

I think Waking the Dead will outrate CBB - it has got twice the audience of CBB so far, and I don't see it falling below 7m.

BBC1's new drama thriller Five Days 9pm got 6.7 million (27%) as ITV1's new You Don't Know You're Born got 3 million (12.1%).

I would expect this is partly the BBC1 new drama effect (it will drop 1.5m and 2.0m next week probably )

ITV seem to have problems with Tuesdays (a bit like the old BBC1 Wednesday night bogey)

Looks like all that promotion paid off for Skins. Skins, skins ****in' skins. I'm glad it has started because I was getting sick of the constant adverts. Why all the hype? It was alright but nothing special if you ask me.

They are trying out British drama on E4, and with 9 eps and a huge cast it must be quite expensive. They have to make it worth their while.
