What with tonight's weather I predict more high audiences, even though there isn't really anything on worth watching. My predictions:
EastEnders (7.30pm, BBC ONE) ~ 8.6 million viewers; 42% audience share Tycoon (9.00pm, ITV1) ~ 4.7 million viewers; 19% audience share |

I'm Thinking That Eastenders will win the clash tonight as last night's was fantastic and many millions watched 8.9m so I'm saying Eastenders wins during the clash.
Thursday and Friday's episodes should pull in the viewers too - When Dawn Gives Birth and the shocking aftermath |

Does anyone else think BBC1 might have done better tonight with:
8.00 EastEnders 8.30 Holby Blue 9.30 Traffic Cops (rpt) 10.00 News 10.35 Lenny Henry's Britain Why doesn't BBC1 just shift EastEnders out of the way when ITV play their games with Emmerdale? |

ITV order six episodes of Emmerdale a week, for the last two the F1 has taken Emmerdale's slot on a sunday, it has to air sometime and it's a fact that Emmerdale does well in a hour long slot against EastEnders so why not?

I was amazed when the announcer said Eastenders was "the One to watch" at 7pm. I never realised it had lost out against The Bill
![]() I was really surprised by this, because usually the one to watch is a decent show, not a soap - I thought OMG, even the beeb realise Lenny isn't the one to watch !

ITV's business venture flops
9:45am: ITV1's new business-reality show Tycoon fell flat on its face last night with only 2m viewers, a share of 9%, as the commercial network had a disastrous peaktime performance. More follows. |

Both EastEnders and Emmerdale averaged 6.4 million viewers - however, when they went head to head, Emmerdale averaged 5.8 million viewers.
I was wrong about Tycoon though - ITV1 needs to stop commissioning copycat versions of other programmes. There is only one The Apprentice. |

Even made the last segment of NBC Nightly News yesterday and Paul Potts is going to be on the Today show on Thursday. It's mad the way people all over the world have been following this show thanks to Youtube.
IIRC, They tried that before and ITV responded by splitting Emmerdale, moving The Bill to 7.30pm and EastEnders got beat by The Bill ![]() |

Ooh that was bad. I don't think ITV will commission a 2nd series of that then! I didn't actually watch it last night - was it just a non-stater or did viewers just continue faling from the start as it was rubbish |

From Broadcast andn it's interesting reading:
ITV's business venture flops Jon Rogers 10:00am ITV1's new business-reality show Tycoon fell flat on its face last night with only 2m viewers, a share of 9%, as the commercial network had a disastrous peaktime performance. The 60-minute show, featuring businessman Peter Jones as he tries to help hopeful entrepreneurs establish their own business ventures, saw its audience start off with 2.3m (10.8%) but this dropped to 1.8m (9.1%) at 9.15pm, it held steady at 1.8m for half an hour and ended on 1.9m (8.7%) for the final 15 minutes. The first in a six-part run was significantly down on the channel's slot average for the year so far of 4.6m (19.8%). The Peter Jones TV-produced show found itself in the troubling situation of trailing all the other terrestrial broadcasters by some margin. The show though did prove to be a popular amongst the upmarket ABC1s, much needed by ITV1. Almost 44% of the show's audience came from this demographic. However only 9.2% of all ABC1s, who were watching TV at the time, were tuned to ITV1. In the same slot last Tuesday (12 June) ITV1 secured an audience of 6.8m (29.3%) for Britain's Got Talent. The final part of BBC2's History of Modern Britain in the same slot had 2.8m (12.7%) while just creeping ahead was Five's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on 2.9m (13.4%). With ITV1 struggling at the time BBC1's Lenny's Britain had a boost in its fortunes. Last night's (19 June) edition took 3.2m (14.5%) over an hour, a rise of 800,000 viewers on the previous week. Claiming the spoils at 9pm was Channel 4's The F Word with a sizeable 4.2m (19.3%), the highest audience of its current run. The show's audience was up by 1.3m compared to last week. Tough gig for Dara ITV1 remained at the bottom of the terrestrial pile at 10pm as Dara O'Briain's Tough Gig didn't even reach the 1m mark with just 902,000 (4.4%) for 30-minutes. The first edition of the show last week, which featured Frank Skinner, had 2.9m (13.5%). The commercial network's slot average so far this year is 3.1m (15%). BBC2's repeat of game show QI beat ITV1 by some margin with a healthy 2.4m (12%) while also gaining a sizeable advantage over ITV1 was Five's CSI: Miami with 1.7m (9.7%). C4's reality show Big Brother began to regain some of the ground lost to Britain's Got Talent last week with the 65-minute show drawing 3.7m (21.4%) and peaking with 4m (24.2%) in the final 15-minutes. Last night's show was up by 400,000 viewers compared to Monday's (18 June) update. BBC1 had little trouble claming the ratings spoils at 10pm with its news update taking 4.7m (24%) for 35-minutes. Between 9pm and 10.30pm ITV1 could only manage to attract an audience of 1.6m, just 7.7%. Five took 2.6m (12.2%) while BBC2 was just ahead of Five on 2.7m (12.7%). BBC1 secured an audience of 3.7m (17.6%) while C4 found itself top of the heap on 4m (19.1%). Naked ambition The commercial network also found itself in trouble earlier in peaktime as the final part of Trinny and Susannah Undressed could only gain 2.8m (13.9%), a drop of 300,000 viewers compared to the previous week. Just managing to push ITV1 into third place at the time was the final part of C4's How to Look Good Naked. The hour-long show grabbed 2.9m (14.3%), an increase of 400,000 on its previous outing. BBC1 once again claimed the spoils with the penultimate outing of Holby Blue on 4.4m (21.8%). Five's MacIntyre: Edge of Existence had 1.2m (6.1%) while BBC2's Natural World managed 1.6m (8.2%). Soap suds An hour-long edition of Emmerdale managed to gain ITV1 some dignity at 7pm with 6.4m (34%). It was level-pegging with BBC1's EastEnders at 7.30pm on 6.4m (31.9%). The second instalment of BBC1's Trawlermen at 7pm had 4.1m (22.7%). Between 6pm and 10.30pm ITV1 managed a share of just 17%, its second worst of the year so far, just ahead of its share of 16.3% which it got on 16 January. Over ITV1's own definition of peaktime (7pm to 10.30pm) it managed a share of 16.4% its worst since 16 January when over this time period it got just 14.8%. All hours shares for Tuesday 19 June 2007: BBC1 – 21.1%, ITV1 – 16.3%, C4 – 12.3%, BBC2 – 8.2%, Five – 6.5%, multichannel – 35.7%. Peaktime (6pm to 10.30pm) shares: BBC1 – 22.6%, ITV1 – 17%, C4 – 13%, BBC2 – 9.1%, Five 7.6%, multichannel – 30%. |

Really glad to see Holby Blue gaining a few more after slipping. I feel like I'm the only person who watches it. It could be much better but I love the main story.

Poor ITV
What a diaster last night really was.Still maybe Tycoon will improve in the coming weeks. Trawlermen on BBC was quite a success though - didn't think it would do that well at all. Still tonight should be a lot better for ITV what with Corrie, The Bill, and Cold Blood seeming quite a good line-up. I see BBC have moved Traffic Cops out of the 8pm slot so maybe the Bil will gain their viewers? |

Pretty bad night for ITV-loads of new shows for them at the moment-at least 'The Time of Your Life' is performing well.

I klnwo that this is a bit late, but here are 5 minute breakdowns of the BGT finale (which overan by 5 mins):
19:55..7.07m --- 20:00..9.05m 20:05..9.99m 20:10..9.98m 20:15..10.21m 20:20..11.26m 20:25..11.59m 20:30..10.66m 20:35..11.30m 20:40..12.02m 20:45..12.55m 20:50..11.01m 20:55..12.64m 21:00..12.67m --- 21:05..6.23m 21:10..5.39m --- What I dont understand is: Where did the reported 13.5million peak come from? Is that a 1 minute peak? |

In US TV ratings news (guess what):
America's Got Talent" drove NBC to a win Wednesday on the strength of the second-best demo ratings ever for the sophomore summer variety show. "Talent" was the top show for the night in major categories with 12.4 million viewers and a 4.4 rating/14 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates released Wednesday by Nielsen Media Research. That's the second-best adults 18-49 rating ever for the show behind its June 21, 2006, debut, when it averaged a 4.6/14. Tuesday's show was the third most watched ever. The two-hour "Talent" prevailed in each of the four half-hours, jumping from 9.4 million viewers and a 3.2/12 at 8 p.m. to 14.5 million viewers and a 5.2/15 at 9:30 p.m. It crushed the competition that included Fox's "On the Lot" (2.4 million, 1.0/3) and ABC's "Fast Cars and Superstars" (3.1 million, 1.0/3) as well as repeats of CBS' "NCIS" (9.3 million, 2.0/7) and Fox's "House" (6.7 million, 2.5/7). NBC kept up the momentum winning the 10 p.m. hour with a repeat "Law & Order: SVU" (9.4 million, 2.9/9) against ABC's "Boston Legal" (4.1 million, 1.3/4) and CBS' "48 Hours Mystery" (6.8 million, 1.9/6). |

Just remember how well quite a few different shows have been doing for BBC1 at 7pm when The One Show gets put there for a whole year! ITV will be sending Peter Fincham a thank you gift.
