20 programmes?

I have read that the 9200T can only store 20 programmes - is that right considering it has a 160gb HDD?

I am looking to move on from my TiVo that has served me well for the past 5 years. I am wondering what else on the market is comparable. It should do everything my TiVo does ie:

- Season Pass/Series Link that lies dormant and re-activates when the next series starts again
- pause live TV and rewind up to 30 mins in buffer
- can watch one recorded programme while it records another
- can start watching a programme while the rest is still being recorded.

My TiVo does all this - the main downside is that it only has 1 tuner. I use Analogue Terrestrial and HomeChoice as my feeds.

Any ideas?

The Humax now has 50 timers but unfortunely none of the Freeview twin tuner PVRs can record your external sources. What might be an idea is to buy a twin tuner freeview PVR if you like them and a seporate DVD recorder for external sources.

As for replacing your TiVo, most if not all of the popular Freeview DVRs can do the last three of the four things you mention. Certainly the Topfield, Humax and Digifusion can, and I'm pretty sure the new Daewoo can too.

No Freeview DVR can do true Season Pass/Series Link yet. The data necessary to do it is not yet transmitted for all channels, although it's supposed to be coming soon. In the meantime, you can get close to Season Pass capability by loading a TAP (a small programme) on to the Topfield. Popular choices for this are MyStuff, UK AutoScheduler, and JAG's EPG.

Actually I dont think anyone has answered what you actually asked; The Humax 9200 used to be limited to 20 timers at any one time (now 50 I believe) but it could always store as many programmes as it had room for. In fact I dont think any PVR has a limit on the number of recordings it can store just the total recording time.

The limit on the Topfield 5800 is 70 by the way. Not sure why this question that seems to be about the Humax was posted in the Topfield forum by the way.
