One of my students has just told me he has received a "Notice of Seizure" from HM customs for 2 DVDs that he has imported from Santiago in the USA.
He has 14 days in which to appeal otherwise they will be destroyed. Has anyone else come across this problem? |

notice of seizure must mean that whatever he was importing was illegal in some way (i believe), otherwise it would simply be a matter of paying customs duties
i've had a couple of dvd orders stopped but haven't had to pay customs on any (there's a limit of 18 pounds inc. shipping) - the ones which have been stopped were from places like express.com and movietyme - i usually order from http://www.dvdboxoffice.com these days because they offer free worldwide shipping and have yet to have any of their dvds stopped |
