US airing basic recaps (Spoilers)
The first eppy just got over tonight for the first group of 8. I'll just give a quick recap of what they sang and what the judges had to say...so if you don't want to know..don't read. lol.
A quick recap... First....Kimberly...Sings "come to my window" by M. Etheridge. Randy: Liked Paula: Liked Simon: Liked; did "brilliantly" Second...Patrick...sings "Unbreak my Heart" by Toni Braxton (One of my personal faves for the episode) Randy: Not great, but nice voice Paula: LIkes; big fan Simon: Bashes his outfit; bad song choice Third...JD Adams....sings "All is fair in Love" by Stevie Wonder Randy: Thought it was "just ok" Paula:Liked; couldn't think of anything bad to say Simon: Liked for most part; said a bit pitchy at first Fourth...Trenyce...sings some song by Bonnie Raitt...dunno title. Randy: Liked; couldn't really remember her from auditions Paula: Liked; "unbelievable" Simon: Liked Fifth...Meosha...sings "How do I live without you" by Trisha Yearwood Randy: Ok; nothing special Paula: Not great; likes tone tho Simon: Came out as a "loser"; sang poorly Sixth...Bettis...sings some song by Boyz II Men Randy: Didn't like; out of tune; couldn't wait for it to be over Paula: Was rootin for him, but dissapointed Simon: thinks he "blew it, big time" Seventh...Charles...sings some song by Stevie Wonder Randy: Liked; good sounding voice Paula: Liked; loves tone of voice Simon: Liked; did very very good Eighth...Julia....sings "Son of a Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield (My fave!!!) Randy: Ok; nothing special Paula: Liked; good voice; "vibrant" Simon: Likes; has done better but thinks one of better in competition So there it is...hope I didn't make it too spoilerish. lol. And I called in an extra vote for Julia as someone requested I do for y'all...

Julia was my fave too. I didn't understand the judges' reactions.
When Bettis was singing my roommate slammed her head down on the table crying "please make it stop!" ![]() However I thought is was so lame that they had family members in the red room! What is the point? And then Patrick's dad going out to talk to Simon ... I was thinking "Simon is entitled to his own opinion!" Okay I have fifteen minutes left to vote, but I still haven't called. I have no motivation. |

I agree..having family members present was very lame.
Its not too hard to vote. You get thru on the first try by now. lol And yeah..Bettis was the worst...ugh. lmao. Felt bad for Meosha tho...she seemed way too nervous or something...cause she sang very bland. |

Thanks both. The boards were humming about Trenyce last night.
We had family members in the Green Room in our show, but only for the results show, which was shown about 90mins after the performances. During the two progs, the contestants and their families were interviewed on a seperate, smaller digital channel, then when they "went live"ie on the main ITV channel, the contestants had to sit on 2 uncomfortable benches while they awaited the results. |

Well, that little bit between the last 2 must have racked up the drama a bit. It'll be interesting to see if we agree with the US tomorrow. I see the AI boards are as accurate in predicting phone votes as DS ones are
Glad about the result from what I can surmise through the comments online tonight.Roll on Friday, although it does take the tension out of it all. What do you Statesiders think of the result? |

I was soooo glad Julia made it!! hehe. my personal fave of this group of 8.
And its nice that Charles made it...because he wasn't featured as much as the others in the previous episodes...so we didn't really see him until his audition for us. Kimberly probably should have made it based on her performance last night...but I wasn't really sad that she didn't make it. I prefer Julia over Kimberly... I think Kimberly will come back as a wildcard to try out again tho..so she still has a good shot. |

Wow. What can I say but that America never ceases to amaze me. It was very obvious the producers wanted Kimberly in the final 10, what with all her air time. However, America voted who THEY wanted. (I didn't vote. ... hehe. Right before they announced if Julia made it I really regretted not voting.) Overall I was pleased.
And I was really getting sick of Kimberly acting like everybody was her best friend and she wanted nothing more than for them to make it. Please, you are fooling nobody, honey. ttyl, Jessica |
