The Killers "Read My Mind"
Emerican Idol

Anyone like the new single "Read My Mind"?

All their songs I never understand at first but they all grow on me. I'm liking their new sound.

This is easily my favourite song on Sam's Town. I just loved it the first time I heard it. The hook is so catchy.

The single version that is being released will be remixed by The Pet Shop Boys.

(under the headlines section - 13th December 2006)

I can't wait to see them in February

Is that the official video?

This and 'This River is wild' are my top 2 favorite songs from Sam's Town (albeit they change every day)! This quite simply, has to be a single. It would be one big mistake if they didn't release this song.

No. I've read that the video for 'Read My Mind' will be set in Tokyo with The Killers on bikes.

There isn't one Killers song I haven't liked so i'm bound to end up loving it in about a week's time Whats everyone's fave?? 'Smile Like You Mean It' is probably mine but I really love 'When You Were Young' too.

Well, it's a great track, but I LOVE pretty much all of Sam's Town anyway, so they couldn't really have gone wrong.

Favourite tracks are 'When You Were Young' & 'All These Things I've Done' btw.

Listening to it right now, it's one of my favourite off the album.

I'm always puzzled why the singles are never that huge, I don't know anyone who dislikes them.

Maybe because pretty much everyone has the album by now, so no need to buy the single.

I like the Killers as there sound remind me of early new wave stuff of the 80s which were dominated by keyboards and synsthinisers and some bangs incorporated that into there rock sound such as early U2, early INXS, EURYTHMICS and many more. Are anyone else reminded of this?

I believe they were heavily influenced by 80s bands, especially those from the UK.

Easily the best off the album. Got the album on release day and I instantly took to this one. So much better than the likes of Bones and When you were young.
And the video is ace.

It should have got number 1 , i'm so dissapointed - it's very confident and a classic.

Love this song but my favourite on Sam's town is 'Why do I keep counting'
'River is wild' is class too, well to be honest it's all great a more consistant album than Hot Fuss.

Yes, that's the point........whilst Hot Fuss had a fair amount of average songs there is barely a track below 8/10 standard on Sam's Town..........so much for the difficult second album, eh?

Personal faves: Smile Like You Mean It and When You Were Young......not terribly original choices, but there you go........
