Blimey. Her sense of humour = zilch!

And as for someone telling her to 'mover her arse' caused her a breakdown, purrlease! Never heard such rubbish!

Well - she is 61 years old. I don't think she should have to take that kind of abuse, especially when it was in a public restaurant and she is a prominent figure in Hong Kong society so I can understand why she would be distressed.

I agree, it is a hell of a lot of money they were being paid too, I would expect some degree of respect for that!

I sincerely doubt the crowd of people watching laughed and pointed their fingers at her. Does she think she's royalty or something, and has to be called 'you're ladyship'.

Sorry, but wealthy people who take offence to being called anything midly different from sir/madam annoy me.

I think there was more to it than just that comment. She paid half of the tuition up front and they tried to end the lessons with her without compensating her when she obviously didn't feel comfortable being humiliated in public. Being told that your "dancing was "f***ing horrible" in front of 50 odd people with donnie burns in the room probably didn't help matters. There was also the allegation he threatened her with physical abuse. So yeah - if I was a 61 year old woman obsessed with dancing, paid 4.2 million pounds up front and then was verbally abused in public and had someone threaten to smash my head through a wall then I'd want my money back too.

Mirko and Gaynor were counter claiming for 4 million HK dollars representing unpaid fees for classes already taken (about 265,000 UK pounds).

Does anyone know how this case panned out? Can't seem to find anything about how it ended (if indeed it has ...)?”

Presumably this is Gaynor Fairweather , partner of Donny Burns ?
These were the two whom Karen and Bryan were expected to succeed and because they didn't retire , they won the World Championship agan .and then Karen and Bryan's partnership broke up ? am I right ?

I know it isn't that simplistic and i have made it sound odd But I know what I mean !!

Sorry but if someone was paying me that much money and expected me to call them mistress fiddlesticks I happily do it - it's a job you don't live with them

Dance teachers I've had in the past have said things like that during classes and practice sessions and I've been OK with it.

But everyone is different and something that motivates me might be highly offensive to someone else. Plus in this specific case, there are cultural differences to consider. Respectfulness is a huge deal in China.

Well - it still was a stupid thing to do giving someone 4.2 million up front just for dance lessons ;P
