iPhone - New Apple device combines iPod, phone, internet communicator. "Revolutionary user interface." "Years of development." Touchscreen interface -- no physical buttons. Runs Mac OS X -- Apps, syncing, networking, multi-tasking, video, etc. Everything synced -- iTunes music and videos, Mac data, email, notes, etc. Hi-res screen -- 160ppi. Thinner than any smartphone -- including Motorola Q and Samsung BlackJack. 2 megapixel camera built-in. Dock connector port, headphone jack, SIM tray, speaker. Cingular is carrier.
iPod portion of iPhone offers widescreen video, Cover Flow interface. 3-D effects. Full-screen album art. "Best iPod we've ever made." 8GB of storage. Phone portion has "visual voicemail." Excellent audio quality. Quadband GSM+EDGE. WiFi and Bluetooth 2. Basicly is owns anything else out in the market atm |

watching it now - looks fantastic - can't wait til the apple site is updated to get a closer look. i'm still wondering about fingerprints and scratching tho' - and presumably it must have a serious HD, and presumably price tag. also wonder if it'll be available in the UK from launch.

Looks stunning.
The fact it runs OS X and is totally touch screen is amazing. I want one. Oooh, just seen the internet automatically knows where you are using Google maps, so you can find everything near you really quick. Bloody hell. Last edited by jonparadise : 09-01-2007 at 18:29. |

I REALLY want one. And I didn't think I would....My ancient black and white ipod is on its last legs, after years of wonderful service...I was hoping the new ipod would bring the price of the Video iPod down but I just want the iPhone now!
Bet I won't be able to afford it though

I deffo want one of these. Just the type of thing i have been waiting for.
I am impressed with initial specifications and software capability and it has a 40g HD too! It is about time someone out there brought out a phone that is a serious MP3 player too. Sony offer us the gimmicky walkmans but with small storage capacity. Keep refreshing the itunes store page to see price etc but site not available yet. Like i said .....first impressions, i want one. If not unreasonably priced i will be ordering ASAP. |

Oooh....
1:31: You can't really think about the internet without thinking about Google. We've been working closely with them. It's my pleasure to introduce Dr. Eric Schmidt, Google's CEO. |

4GB - $499
8GB - $599 Well I'm slightly relieved...my brand new 30GB iPod wasn't a wasted purchase but I can't help thinking it would still make it redundant - but that kind of capacity just isn't enough for me when it comes to music. |

Available in the US in June (awaiting FCC approval) with cingular. Q4 in Europe. 2008 for Asia.
Who will they partner in Europe? My guess is Vodafone. |

it does look fantastic. i've still got a ye olde grey screen mobile - everytime i think about getting a new one, and look at what's available, they always seem 1G behind what they're advertised as - WAP for example was basically crap, and 3G would be good if we had something like reliable WIMAX or whatever technology of the day to make it all work.
but if somethink like this worked as advertised it would be awesome. although it's presumably still dependent on the quality of the network. but the UI looks fantastic, with the idea of widgets running on it - touch of genius, as they're almost made for that kind of a small screen, and google maps knowing where you are, and as has been said a mobile that actually is a phone and mp3 player, rather a phone with a nominal amount of storage for music. and a 2MP camera. can't imagine it being much less than £499 tho'. Looks like I'll be getting a 30 or 80 GB video ipod then. 4 & 8 is too small for my music needs....and it won't be out until Xmas anyway.....

Still "and one more thing..." yet to come.
Apple dropping the "Computer" part from their name. Now just "Apple, inc". |

I was really excited until they announced storage capacity. 8GB just isn't enough for the first Widescreen iPod Device.
It will be interesting to see who they partner with. |
