HDTV Picture slowdown - a fault?
Hi all,
Just bought a Sony Bravia 52 inch set which, at the moment, has Sky Digital (i.e. not Sky HD) on it. I have encountered a small problem and would like to know whether it is a fault or not. On certain programs (and not all) I am noticing that the picture seems to slow down before catching up with itself. It doesn't happen with an analogue signal and it doesn't seem to be related to fast moving scenes. In fact, it seems to happen mostly on bbc1 and ITV. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

I think this may be the same problem I have with my 32" Bravia and notice on news channels with scrolling text at the bottom. The text seems to go into slo-mo and then back to normal speed. I'm not an expert but I think it's to do with de-interlacing. Try watching the problem channels through the integrated digital tuner (ie Freeview), if available, it never happens on that for me anyway. It has never happened on HD programmes. Hope this helps
