How are you digitising the video? Graphic cards makers got into trouble for ingoring copyright proterction some time ago. The video digitiser is considered a copying device and shouldn't disable/ignore macrovison. It's tough if all you want to do is watch, but to watch youve made a streaming digital copy!

Hmmm, there shouldn't be anything different about the PAY channels and the FTA/FTV channels when sending the signal to the PC, it's no different to sending the signal to the TV after all.
If you can watch the channels on the TV then you can watch the channels on a PC.

What connection method are you using, RF, s-video or something else?

So as with all PC's it's video input is considerd a copying device. It has to respect any macrovison in any analog broadcast. Instead of showing that weird wavy effect when trying to record using a VCR, all you get is blank.

A normal TV dosn't record. The PC is considered a copying device, not a display device.

Are you sure you are not just seeing the normal analogue or perhaps DTT terrestrial channels?
Is there a rooftop aerial being passed through the digibox?

True but in regards to this particular question there is nothing preventing the viewing of any of the video outputs on a TV card in a PC. If you can watch it on a TV then you can watch it on a PC via a suitable TV card be it connected via RF, s-video or external device with scart.

As to some proprietery hardware in the PC blocking "clean" video from the digibox, well that is another matter, no idea how that would work since hooking up an external analogue source is a cornerstone of HTPC and media centres.

Well you may need to retune the analogue tuner in the PC to the Digibox RF output setting, that would explain why you are seeing BBC, ITV etc but not SKY movies etc

The Sky box only has one tuner to feed all the various SCART and RF outputs on the back. So it does not have any ability to feed different channels to different outputs.

Fistly I applogise for misleading you. I though the cable you where using was composite to be digitised by the PC.

SKY adds it's own channel to the channels picked up from the aerial. Note channel, not channels. With SKY off the TV tuner card in the PC will still see the normal channels from the aerial.

You need your sky on a channel that's clearly sky and cannot be mistaken for a TV broadcast. With SKY on you need to redo the channel search using the TV tuner in the PC. It will find one, note one, new channel, the one SKY is using.

Any program you watch on SKY will now appear on the one SKY channel on PC Tv tuner.
