Connect Panasonic DVD Recorder, Samsun TV and SKY!
Hi I need help connecting Samsung LE32R74, Sky + box and Panasonic DMREZ25EBS with HDMI output.
TV = 2 Scart and HDMI input Sky + = 2 Scart DVD Recorder = 2 Scart and HDMI output I want Sky to come through AV1 on TV as it has RGB input, and I want DVD recorder to come in on HDMI. I also want to be able to record on the DVD recorder from Sky. I have the sky box on AV1 scart socket of TV and DVD on AV2 and HDMI. My problem is whenever I switch on DVD recorder the TV switches over to AV1, if I manually switch over to AV2 or HDMI the TV switches back to AV1 if I have to make a choice on the DVD player - IE menu screens etc. I want the following:- Sky + AV1 DVD AV2 & HDMI The ability to record without the DVD controlling everything AV input on the TV. At the moment it seems the DVD recorder is controlling AV1 even though it's not plugged in to this AV socket! HELP! Paddy

1) Connect the SKY RGB TV scart to the AV2 (ext) socket on the DVD Recorder. This allows you to make high quality RGB recording from SKY.
2) Connect the AV1 (TV) Scart on the DVD recorder to the Tv's RGB scart. RGB Passthrough will route the SKY RGB to the TV when in standby, 3) WRT HDMI ,xperiment with using the Sd scaler/deinterlacer on the TV instead on the one in the DVD Recoder. To do this you set up the HDMI interface in the DVd Recoder to 576i. |

Disconnect Sky from TV completely, then switch on DVD, and see whether that still jumps to AV1 even though there is no scart lead going into AV1. If it doesn't, then it is not your DVD recorder making the switch, it's your Sky box. It could be that the DVD recorder's connection to Sky is sending Sky a signal when it is being switched on, and Sky is then sending a (wake-up) signal to the TV through AV1.
Why have you got DVD connected to TV through both scart and HDMI? This shouldn't be causing a problem, but I would try it with only one or the other connected at first, just in case it is the fact that the same two pieces of kit are connected to each other using two different methods that may be confusing your TV's input selection. |

Sky AV1 to TV AV1 DVD AV1 to TV AV2 Sky AV2 to DVD AV2 HDMI to HDMI But still the DVD player switched to TV AV1 when turned on or the menu button is pressed on the DVD. When playing a DVD it is shown on TV AV1, TV AV2 and HDMI! Any other suggests??

Hello - I've sorted my problems. I'm using a partially wired scart, with number 8 wire removed.
Does it exactly what I want! |
