TU-CTH100 EPG Conundrum!!
pafos
12-01-2007
For about the last three months there has been no EPG data (on my Panny) on any ITV channel broadcast from MUX 2.
On all other Mux I have no problem and have a fully populated EPG at all times.

Now you might say that there must be a problem either with the Panny or the Transmitter BUT I also have a Panasonic digital TV that uses the same 7 day EPG data and there is no problem on that TV so the EPG data MUST be being sent out from the TX.

Back to the PVR, the ITV now and next data is being displayed but no EPG.

So, any of you out there having the same problem ??? or can advise as to what the problem actually is.

For info I am on the Carradon Hill TX in Cornwall and get 9/10 signal strength.

Is it possible to do a full factory reset to see if this clears the problem. If the EPG is held on disk (which I think it is) be careful in case the process will also loose your recordings and you are not happy for that to happen at the moment.

There was recently some people who use the Humax who could not get BBC4 programming to apear in the EPG anymore. The firmware and EPG data is held in memory on the Humax so doing a reset to default settings cured the problem without wiping the recordings on the disk. It solved the problem and my estimation was there was some sort of bad data in the table and wiping that EPG table was clearing that bad data stuck there. Hense the above suggestion.

I had the same problem before christmas.
Sometimes no data for More4, once no data for ITV4.
All other chanels were OK.
Seems to be OK now.

Thanks for that suggestion I will try it once I have saved my recordings on to DVD and report back.

Full factory reset did not change anything. EPG data still missing on all ITV channels. I have now contacted ITV technical bods to see if they can answer my questions. Will await reply!!.

Just dug mine out of its box, and am getting a full 7 Days for ITV1, but not their other channels.

Receiving from Plymton transmitter which is a relay off Caradon Hill.

I ahd this problem and found that it was rectified by turning the maching to standby and then back on again.. Then going to the EPG and selecting another day and then return back to the correct day...

Hope this helps. H

Thanks for your input Guys but after I complained to ITV Technical people after a few hours ALL EPG data in MUX2 went missing for about 10 minutes then all of a sudden ITV channels started to be populated and after about 35 minutes I had ALL EPG data from MUX2. They did not say what was wrong (if anything) but it is strange that I get full EPG after a complaint.
Thanks again
