According to the London Lite (freebie evening paper in London) 12.01.07, Len Goodman has recommended that Emma Bunton be signed up for "Dancing With the Stars" (US version of SCD).

As we know, Len judges on the US show as well. Seems he (and Bruno presumably, who also does the US show) can't get enough of the Bunton. Presumably they are less fussed in the States if contestants have done ballroom and latin before, since somebody whose done a whole series of Strictly, up to and including the semifinals, is surely not a beginner any more?

Please don't put her with Louis.

That is all.

How would that work? Isn't one of the rules that they don't have previous experience of ballroom and latin?

So it's a show about teaching people who can dance to dance ? Interesting

I've read somewhere this week that the BBC want Emma for ITT or Strictly judging.............It said it was because she was such a big hit with us viewers, not sure how they came to that conclusion myself.IMHO.

Two thoughts on this:

1) Don't sign her for DWTS

2) Don't sign her for anything SCD related

Big hit with the viewers?

Thats why she was in the bottom two quite often.

OMG, are they SERIOUS?! OK, so I'd never get a chance to watch DWTS but that seems to me to be massively unfair to all the other contestants if she's going in with virtually an entire series worth of training under her belt! And the judges say they're completely unbaised towards anyone - what a joke.

And I hope she is not put on ITT. Claudia does a fantastic job, she doesn't need anyone else to help her!

she'd be good I think as an aftershow presenter on BBC 3 if they're thinking about running an SCD extra, following the show each week.

I don't believe it and I don't think the BBC are thinking about next year just yet. Nor do I think Len has any influence on the US show.
It is just a case of an agent doing his job of keeping his client in the news to boost album sales and maintain the contract with the record company. After all, Emma needs all the help she can get in that direction

Oh yeah Dave .
Hit with the public ? The BBC ensured she wasn't .
Nothing SCD related at all .
She was so blatantly there to boost or relaunch a flagging career , the others didn't need to do that at all.

Isn't she going to be in Neighbours?

I don't watch DWTS anyway, so don't really care one way or the other about that, but her inclusion in ITT or judging Strictly would make me switch off. She was significantly less popular than much lesser known opposition on SCD. Without the judges consistently putting her top, how quickly would she have gone out?

I think there's definately some sort of golden handshake type thing going on between the BBC and 19 Management (Emma's management company, founded by Simon Fuller).

Yikes if there is some substance in this, and it's not just PR spin, then can I just say, if the Beeb want someone to work with Claudia 'Shoe Goddess Fringy Girl' Winkleman, and presuming she won't be dancing next series, then it should be Karen Hardy and not Emma Bunton.

I agree wholeheartedly. Karen could be the non-jewish big sis to Claudia but putting those two together on the show, you might as well re-brand it as 'this is bbc 2, for the next 30 mins, you'll hear two good looking intelligent girls giggle'

I'm sorry but I like Emma and while I don't agree with her doing DWTS as it wouldn't be fair, I could quite see her being an extra roving reporter for Claudia on ITT. She is the sweetest, nicest person you could ever hope to meet and what you see is what you get - I don't think she's got a nasty bone in her body. I really don't understand why people on this forum dislike her so much. And presumably the GBP as well since she was in the last 2 so often. It's the Zoe factor all over again

Force ten I don't dislike Emma at all, but I adore Claudia and ITT being only half an hour I just wouldn't like anyone co-hosting with her.
