He did! I didn't think he was as good as Duncan but what do I know. Only skated once and I nearly broke my leg.

Don't worry, Fi. There's plenty of us around to rein you in if you forget when you hear the word 'marks'.

Anyone notice phillips daytime partner (fearn) in two adverts during the breaks?
Clever timing or what??

I missed most of it last night and only caught the first few minutes but will watch it this afternoon when it's repeated. I love T&D and have done for years and this year we have the added attraction of Duncan James to drool over

Hi everyone from SCD, nice to see all these familiar faces

I'm here too!

I thought last years DOI was a very poor cousin to SCD but they knew what they had to do and have risen to the challenge. A 3 month training period before the first show has allowed them to all skate better from the start. A few extra couples will give the series more time to develop and I hope it does turn out to be dancing on ice in the final not dancing in the air, like last year.

I always think DOI is a bit like low-fat chocolate in that it's better than nothing, but nowhere near the silky smoothness, the elegance and tantilisation that is SCD - a full-on dairy milk experience. if there ever was one. Why do ice skaters wear such tacky outfits?! Anyways, twill be good to have something dance-related on a saturday night.

I kind of boycotted DOI last year, as it's a blatent rip off of SID/SCD. But I have been forced to relent this year becuase of the participation of a man I have held a torch for since I was just 10 years old (no, not Phillip, although I do feel that way about him too) - Neil Fox. Strange, but sadly true...
That didn't quite go according to plan then, did it?

Hi y'all - also popped over from SCD!

Standard of the first show MUCH better than last year (with SCD you can enjoy the performances from week 1, whereas the first few weeks of DOI last year were just a wobble-fest). My first thoughts (other than how fab to see Torvill & Dean skate again) was that whoever did the costumes and make up needs shooting - Ulrika was made up to look like she was about 50.

Do we think that Claire Buckfield will be the Jill Halfpenny of the show?

So this where everyone is camping out

Well I suppose we had to have something to fill our long and lonely SCD less evenings.
Only kidding I do like Dancing on Ice but it just isn't SCD, never mind soon be October and the fun can start all over again yippee

Seriously tho thought it was a pretty good start by everyone last night - did laugh at Kyron tho trying to outdo Matt with his "lycra" and Darren Gough with his "caterpillar" movement I rotflmao at that one, but the footballer and the rugby playing both showing promise along with Clare Buckfield and Ulrikakakaka.

Not too keen on that news lady Kay something or other and really Jason isn't quite a patch on Craig for his friendly approach now is he?

I'd just got over Craig's singing and someone revived it by dancing to the song...

I have only seen the one episode but was impressed with DoI: no annoying Bruce Forsyth with his unfunny "gags" or simpering Tess Daly and - to my mind at least - more emphasis on dancing and the competition element than playing up to the cameras. Prefer the skate-off option too! Hope this good trend continues ....
