Anyone else had problems with this recorder? Just bought one ,this should be simple to set up but it refuses to tune in to freeview channels, I get nothing with automatic tuning just blank screen. Have checked connections . Any advice at all?

Hi I purchased the saem DVD last week, no problem with DTV channels - although I don't get them all simply because of my aerial quality! It took me a few mins to discover that the 'normal' channels were stored in the '900's'.

My problem has been linking it together with the sky + box and my samsung TV! When I play a DVD it switches the TV from HDMI to AV1!

I hate to ask such an obvious question, but are you sure that Freeview is available in your area? There are still large areas in the UK that cannot yet receive the service.

I am grateful for any question obvious or not ! we do have freeview although not all channels and have been using digi box. It would appear we cannot tune into anything. beggining to think machine is faulty and not my brain.

There is a good possibility that neither is faulty! Might I suggest carefully checking your aerial connections? Having experience of setting up assorted Freeview equipment I know that the Aerial connection is critical.

I would suggest firstly plug the main Aerial feed Directly to the DVD Recorder, connect the aerial loop through output to the Digi Box and the output of this to your TV.

It is quite possible that the Digi Box blocks any Digital channels from it's RF output connection. I seem to recall having a similar problem connecting a box to a Goodmans Digital TV (a not very good TV I might add).

I assume you are keeping your digi box so that you have watch one/ record another capability.
