Hi

I've had this TV for 6 months or so now, and I'm happy with it apart from two things...the sluggish response time when using the EPG, and the inability to move the guide on 24 hours with one button press.

Do any other owners of this TV feel the same? I did wonder whether a software upgrade would be required (mine's on software version 2.2) to sort out the response time, but it seems not.

Yeah, id agree.

From the day i bought the TV (about 6 months ago), i cant remember using the in-built digital tuner once, other than the first day i got it.

I have a Humax PVR9200T, and apart from the fact the UI is cleaner, quicker, and i can record on it etc, the PQ is better than the in-built digital tuner as well.

I dont really care though. The TV is great, and i always intended to use the Humax to watch digital tv anyway.

At the end of the day, i was paying for a great TV screen, which is what i got. I also paid for a top-end digibox and PVR, which i also got. Combine the two and you get a great system. I dont blame Toshiba for spending more on developing the panel than on the digital tuner software. Im glad the way they did things.

Still, that doesnt really help someone without a top-end stang alone freeview box!

I just got the 32wlt68 model and while I didn't see any info to tell me I could skip forward one day in the guide I tryed the button on the remote for skip forward on the dvd control buttons and it worked. Worth a try with your case incase it's the same set up. I only thought to try as the humax I have uses the same button to skip a day.

I also have the 37 inch WLT66 and sky+, my picture on both sky and inbuilt tuner is excellent. It does say in the handbook to use the remote DVD skip buttons for +/- 24 hour shift., what I want to know is why can you not turn the TV off? There is no seperate power off button and it is in permanent standby, or am I missing something?

Turn it off at the electrical plug socket if you really want it off, as opposed to being in standby. LCDs use far less electricity than CRTs, and the WLT66's have built-in Freeview, which I think (though I haven't tested this) that the Freeview receiver will still pick up the Freeview channels, and output them via both scarts, to any VCRs or DVD recorders which are connected to the TV. So, this would mean you could record a digital TV programme without having the TV switched on. It's no different to your Sky box - the on-off switch on that only turns it on or puts it in standby, there is no button to turn it off completely. And my DVD recorder is the same - I think actual physical on-off buttons, where off means off and no electricity is flowing through the equipment, are becoming rarer and rarer.
