Just heard on GMTV that the great new Crossroads is to be axed? Has this been confirmed by ITV?

ITV can't expect a new soaps rating to take off over night. I know there probably arn't many people sad to see this soap go, and after watching the first episode I would have agreed. But after a few weeks it makes great TV.

From what I've seen of it, the show has been quite good and it would be a shame if they axed it now. It just needs time to get a fanbase going. With Night and Day also going and as they no longer have Home and Away then they'll need a third soap.

Given that it's on a time when a lot of people haven't got home from work I think it's a bit unfair. Although it IS rubbish! But I do enjoy watching it when I'm doing the ironing on a Sunday. I'm sure it was on later last time - atout 6.00 ish?

They need to get some of the ... less good ... actors. eg Jane Asher and the stereotypical gay drama queen of a chef. But I did like the story of Dave getting £2000 off Lady Alice and then finding his original winnings under the cushion!

this is just a rumour started by the Daily star, and we all know how reliable their information is - unfortunately it seems to be gathering pace which is a shame for all of us who enjoy the show and the actors and production staff working on it. It seems as if some people just want to see it fail regardless of how good the show is. I don't believe that it is about to be axed -
and I think it is really irresponsible of GMTV to spread such rumours.

It was on LK Today, Lorraine asked Tina Baker (soap expert) if it was true, and she didn't really answer just said she didn't like it.

Well you obviously know your stuff, Emma Noble's character was only in it for a week 'cos she was a guest star.

Crossroads is great, I wish people would give it a chance instead of knocking it.

Hi, well I'm actually really enjoying the new Crossroads, the chef's bit of a prick but it's good. I love Angel Sampson, total soap bitch and that water fountain last week was sooooooo good!

However, I read on bbc.co.uk/puresoap on the soap psychic section, it says they are planning to axe it as it's got a million viewers less than the last time they revamped it.

I totally love it though, the Sampsons are great!! No-one gives the new soaps a chance, that's what happened with Family Affairs and look at it now, it's been on tv for like 7 years!

Complete stereotype! However, he must be on his way out because Dean Gaffney from EE is coming in as the new chef.
