Digital Camera or Digital Camcorder

I am looking for a dual function camera and would like to know which does the job better a Camcorder or Camera.

I have about £300 to spend and was thinking of either a Samsung HD1A or Panasonic FZ7

Which does the job better? Depends on which feature you mean.

The movie mode on a digital camera can't compete with a camcorder that's for sure, it's more of a gimmick.

You have to work out what's most important to you, stills or movies....

A still camera takes better stills and a camcorder better movies, simple as that.

The horns of a dilemma...

Have you thought about the Canon S3IS? Also a 12x zoom, as the FZ7, but much better videos.
