I posted about this early this morning when I was reading the AI boards. Apparently she was involved with an "adult" web site which makes her an unsuitable idol
More on http://www.tvrules.net/modules.php?n...ticle&sid=1501
But this was 4 years ago when she was 18. Why does it disqualify her. After all the music business is noted for its clean living isn't it?

as far as im concerned what she did is in the past, and i dont see why she had to be disqualified, it should be up to the american public to decide when they vote - if they choose not to accept her as an idol then fine they dont vote so she doesnt get thru that way.
it seems a bit hypocritical really - they said that they were going to try and get frenchie as far in the music industry as possible - so if she does end up becoming famous anyway then why cant she do AI to become famous??
from what i saw she had a great personality and seemed like a ncie girl. we all make mistakes (if you can call it a mistake - its up to her if she wants to be involved in an adult website, not up to anyone else) and we should be allowed to forget them.

I definitely did not see this one coming. lol.

But I agree...she was my fave from the early audition rounds..and I was rootin' for her to go all the way.

I can see where they are coming from...as the viewing audience is quite young...but I don't think it would have affected her image at all or that she would have a bad influence on her audience.

So she did porn....who cares? We had a pornstar on our recent series of Survivor...why not on AI too!

She just shouted anyway. I care about tone, not volume. That's why Will Young is in a different league to last years AI winner, who also shouted a lot. Tamyra was excellent though.

I love how the only ones who actually got featured in the build up shows are peoples "favourites"... Fair enough I guess, but it seems a bit unfair that that Julie girl got through, when Kimberley, who certainly does seem a bit of a bitch, was better than her.

I still think Kelly Clarkson rocks!!! I love powerful voices. I don't think its considered shouting when they have the vocal abilities to back it up...which I think Kelly does.

But the smoking gun website..i forget hte address. I think it might be...

..says she posed topless on some sort of website so she could afford to get back into college. giver her a break..bring her back!!!

Quite agree. I knew US TV was prudish, but not to that extent. (Sounds like Ruben did a pretty good job last night, so it'd be nice to have a male winner this time.) But the indecent haste they removed her from the official site was mind blowing. Wonder what skeletons Fox execs have in their closets? Simon's well known over here for his love of table dancing joints. They even made fun about it during the series. I'm sensing that no-one takes the mickey out of him in the States, Here, he was the butt of all sorts of jokes and skits. He enjoyed it deep down because he likes the attention

I think the purported underage girls has something to do with it.

What underage girls? I thought that she was 18.
Guess you're hoping for a wild card for your man? Do you reckon it was the way he looks? If he sounded like those downloads you posted, then he's miles better than any of last weeks lot.
Oh well, glad about Ruben. Will be watching him with interest tomorrow night.

How I laugh whenever I see yet another story of Simon with a table-dancer or stripper.

Every single one is "placed" by Max Clifford, who is handsomely paid by Simon Cowell so that we mere mortals believe that Simon actually likes the ladies

The truth, however, is quite different and why he needs to be ashamed is beyond me

Hmmm That confirms whay I have long suspected. Have we got a Rock Hudson Syndrome here? I just like the way the US seems to take him so seriously while we take the proverbial. I dont care what his preferences are, but it does make him one hell of a hypocrite doesn't it?

Ananova- http://www.ananova.com/entertainment...atestheadlines

has a story about it. I was completely shocked that she was kicked off- there goes my prediction - but I think that she will find success in the record business and that this won't be the end for her.

You can go to http://savefrenchie.com/ to try and get her back on the show(enough people might work)

What hypocrites Nigel Lythgoe and the rest are. Apparently Frenchie told them about this ages ago and they still let her carry on. Call me cynical, but I reckon they wanted her to have maximum exposure before signing her. But she cant be an "American Idol" because they are squeaky clean and the programme is a 'brand'. Whatever!

Call me very cynical and a tad suspicious, but it seems to me that Frenchie was booted out because there was a very very good chance she would win.........and she does not exactly fit the mould of what a pop star looks like...... I think it all comes down to marketing... the record company have an image in mind of what is a pop idol... and are not prepared to put their money into any image that does not fit their picture.
