I have a widescreen Bush TV bought quite a while from Safeway when they had an offer on them.

I would like to output composite video-out to the TV from my PC but the ports dont seem to do anything.

On the side of the set there is a yellow RCA port (video), 2 audio RCA's, and a Headphone socket.

I have connected the PC to the video RCA (yellow) on the TV and booted it up but nothing seems to happen. The TV remote has an AV button but this just flips from RF (in my case the ntl box), AV1 (VCR) and AV2 (DVD). I would have expected something like an AV3 to ,ake use of these ports - but there is none.

I seem to have misplaced the manual so could you kind people please help me out with this. Also do Bush have a website - i have searched it but cannot find any online presence of the company.

I don't know how much PC knowledge you have, so forgive me if I am stating the obvious to you.

Assuming your PC has a proper composite video output - which is unusual unless you have a TV card fitted - you need to switch on the video from the PC menu.

Mine has S-VHS out to the TV.

Usually you have the choice of the picture either on the PC screen OR the TV - sometimes it's both but not always, but the video out is usually off as a default setting on the PC.

I can't remember where exactly in the PC settings it is, but try 'display' and 'monitors' and see if you can toggle the picture back and forward.

If you can't find it, I'll have a look through the menus as I have done it in the past for AV presentations several times.

The PC is correctly setup to work on composite video-out as i have tried it on my 14" TV. I just seem to be having problems with the TV side of the situation.

The compersite is probably AV1 or AV2 and is shared with the scart scocket which are over riding the compersite, try unpluging the scarts

To confirm the posting above

I have a Bush WS7674 which has AV sockets (Video,A/R, A/L,phones) at the side too, still got the manual but its not much help in this area ?

I've just tried it with my video cam , and couldn't get any signal thru either . it seems that those sockets are enabled when you have AV2 selected but if like me you have something already plugged in scart 2 it seems that signal overides the sockets on the side , unplug scart 2 and the signal from side sockets is then visible.

Not overly useful really !
probably why they don't bother to mention in in the manual

It is quite normal for RGB signals to "overrule" composite ones.

That's so you get the best signals available at any time.

The SCART system was designed to solve connection problems with individual leads - and it does that much of the time - but not all the time when sometimes it is just plain awkward.

I guess that's what's happening with the Bush...

We've just picked up a Bush ITV 2100, which works, except that it has no remote.

The front only has 5 buttons, chnl +/-, vol +/i and power.

we'd like to do a very few things with this TV:

#1: set up the channels to point to the 4 BBC channels we get from our antenna input

#2: be able to switch to the AV in to let us use the DVD player with it (that wierd elongated input called SCART I believe? I'm from the states so it's alien to me)

I've had a long look at universal remote sites and haven't able to able to find codes for Bush products.

This site sells some Bush remotes, but I'm not sure which, if any would be compatible with the ITV 2100.

http://www.avukltd.com/remotecontrol...ction=send_all

Any suggestions? We'd be willing to set up a Palm Pilot with omniremote if necessary.

Thanks for any help at all. This is vexing.

Those numbers weren't accurate, but the name of the company was. Thanks!

The website isn't amazing, but has some encouraging information for me.

I'm not sure.

I think Bush draws a distinction between Internet TV and the just the TV in model numbers. They are apparently sold in the same case, but in our case the phone and printer jacks are completely missing (but there are holes for them).

So they're using the same mold, but selling some of them without the computer parts.

I bought it at a boot fair, so I'm not sure how it was packaged.
