Rubbish.

The most tearjerking episode was Jamies death. Not to mention Tiffany although I can't remember if that was before or after Ethel died.

That was before, Tiffany died in 1998, Ethel died in 2000.

I cant believe you cant remember who died first.

If they all died tomorrow I wouldn't shed a tear because I hate the programme - all they do is moan, moan, moan - they're constantly sticking their noses into eachother's business, I've only watched it about twice and that was enough. Brookside's the same. He said this, she said that, we did this, they did that, there's gonna be a whole lotta trouble - oh bog off!

I know, I apologise - I generally don't like most soap operas and shouldn't vent my spleen about that here. There are plenty of programmes which I like which other people probably think are really boring. Sorry, I wasn't having a go at any of you.

Its okay we all have different tastes anyways. But we all have to respect what one watches.

But anyways at least you were expressing your own opinion

I agree this episode was fantastically done and did make me fill up. My only gripe is Mark would never be put in that situation. Doctors would never say he only has a few months to live just because his combination therapy had stopped working. Don't want to get to arsey about what is after all just a soap but after a really enlightened story arc about living positively (sic) with AIDS I thought this exit was contrived and a sad cop out. If they wanted to get rid of Todd Carty why not just tie his exit up with the "what happened to Lisa" story line and show people who may be ignorant of modern day AIDS issues that it is not always a death sentence. Rant over!

Oh please, there have been FAR better "tear-jerkers" on EE than THAT tripe...especially since very few cared that much about Jamie anyway...and it was predictable, and hardly that emotional and just, well, bleugh....

Anyway, Mark leaving was better than I thought it would be. Wendy Richards (Pauline) proved she could act at least, which I had doubts about!

Sorry to disagree, but the thought it was dreadful.

It could have been done much better but the acting of Wendy Richards and Todd Carty was so wooden, it was like someone had thrown 2 chairs into a room. What should have been a very emotional scene between a mother and son was laughable.

How on earth this woman has lasted so long is beyond me. She cant act and her character is the worst in the program.

I agree with one of the above posters that the most emotional exit ever was Tiff.

i reckon the ethel 1 was most moving because of the length of time that dot and ethel were friends and the way they went back in time to the war as ethel died was quite moving because ethel was dots last surviving friend from that era

Yes, that was ridiculous.

The actual goodbye was well done, but the lead up to it was SOOO boring. I didn't think I could take much more of Mark staring moodily into space and obviously hoping someone would guess what was up.

I almost wholly agree, however I didn't think she was TOO bad in that episode. I was fully expecting her to be dreadful, but she was just, well, bearable....

But yes, she's not that great an actress as a whole and to think she's one of the most paid stars on the show is laughable...
