Hi

After reccomendations from people here i bought a Marantz amp last year. The only problem is that it keeps cutting out.

However, when you press on the top of the case it makes a click sound then comes back to life but if you take pressure off the top then it stops working again.

Anyone know whats going on with it?

Sounds like a dry joint somewhere inside. If you only bought it last year, isn't it still under guarantee?

Sure does sound like a dry joint, best get it seen to a.s.a.p. otherwise more damage could possibly occur.

That might make it run a bit hot, which may mean more problems - or a fire. At least it'll keep the house warm.

Well i got the thing repaired and its now even worse, you need to apply alot of pressure to the top of the amp for it to "click" back on.

Any further advice?

Did it take 8 months to get it repaired??If it's still under guarantee, tell the dealer to repair or replace it. If they aren't helpful, go straight to Marantz.
