Me and my work colleagues are having trouble sending and receiving calls and texts at the mo. We're all on vodafone and no matter what we try we're not having very much luck.

Anyone else having the same problem?

it is possible that the phone has lost its link with the network - we used to always advise clients to do a manual roam. You don't say what mobile you are using, but if you look in the settings, network, click on manual and the phone will look for networks, click onto any other network that comes up and allow it to say declined or whatever, then click onto VF. if this doesnt remedy the problem, would suggest you then call VF cust services as they can do other diagnostics and run through settings and the like.

It started working again just after I finished work on Friday, but now I'm back it's all gone belly up again. Problem with the transmitter around here perhaps?

did you try the manual roam? is it only texts or texts and calls? is your phone showing signal? might be an idea to place a call to VF cust services for them to check the transmitters in your area

Hi Simner7

I work for Vodafone and may be able to help.

If you and your colleagues are only having the problem in and around your works area, the chances are the local mast is experiencing problems.

If you go to www.vodafone.co.uk, then contact us, you can send us an email directly. If you include FIT165 in the body of the text, it will be picked up by a team who monitor the public forums.

They will then be able to check the masts in the area, and forward any problems to the engineers, or least tell you the progress if Vodafone are already aware of it.

Hope this helps

I've got the same problem.

It's only texts outgoing at least, I've rung someone up so I know outgoing calls are fine. The phone is showing perfect signal and there is the usual interferance on speakers when I try to send texts (although they never get sent).

if the issue is occuring all the time at ddifferent areas then i would suggest looking into the SMS settings (message centre number etc) but if it occuringh in only one place (at work but not at home) i would suggest calling vodafone, or if you can, take the phone into a VF store for them to have a look at

Hi flagpole.

We use FIT165 for techical/ network related issues, and FIT135 for complaints/ customer service issues. It just means we get an idea of what's coming in to us. Those are the only 2 codes we use at the moment, though in the future there may be more added as when we need them.
