Picture "bleeding"
Hi,
I have a Philips 4:3 TV which is about two years old. I am getting some "bleeding" of bright whites on to surrounding black parts of the screen. This is most noticable when white text is on a black screen, or starfields in any space sequences. The "bleeding" always goes to the right, never up/down or left. Does anybody have any ideas, I have tried all the usual contrast/brightness/sharpness type settings and it didn't help too much. Thanks for any assistance! BTW: this problem has always been there as far as I know, its not a fault that has developed over time or anything. |

If turning the brightness or contrast down reduces the bleeding slightly then it sounds like the tube. This is known as flaring. There is a chance that turning down the A1 voltage (internal adjustment) may help but it probably won't give a permanent cure.
