When do I get charged for Skype calls?

I've just installed Skype on my PC, and have been trying out the various features.

I seem to be able to make landline calls, and send text messages even though I haven't signed up for Skype out.

When do I get charged for these calls? If I never sign up for Skype out will I ever be charged for them?

Sounds like you've struck lucky.

Hmmm... that's what I thought, but seems a bit odd to me!

When I signed up, I automatically had 15p credit so maybe your calls have been short enough to cost less than that.
