Is there any way to convert a composite PAL video feed into a composite NTSC feed? Are there any adaptors for this?

Most of the cheap, easily available converters in the UK are NTSC to PAL ones. To go the other way you might have to go the whole hog and get something like the KDV-500 or the GTH Ace which aren't exactly cheap.

Alternatively, you can easily do it on your PC with some simple software, providing you have enough disk space, processing power and the appropriate video in/out capability. Even if you have to do some upgrading it might work out cheaper than a stand-alone converter.

If it's just a one-off job the cheapest option is probably just to get a company to do the job for you.

I'm no expert, but from my experience of providing multi standard tape dubs, I think you would need fairly sophisticated conversion equipment.

We can play back NTSC tapes on PAL machines, but we can't copy them - they have to go through a fairly expensive standards convertor.

I can't see how you would avoid needing the same kind of gear to go from PAL component to NTSC component and back...

One for the specialists I think...

A systems converter would probably cost in the region of £300 upwards....

Doing a quick search on Google came up with this <LINK which might be a cheap way to convert if it's a one off conversion required..

I have no idea about the company or their service quality though....

From reading the information on the site, I think we are talking about fairly low quality stuff here.

The whole point about using component video is to get the best quality possible...

Dont forget, I said "Composite" (as in the single Yellow phono connector).
