Quickie iTunes/iPod DRM question

Hi,

I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to iTunes/iPod and I've got a bit carried away making compilation CD's using songs that I've bought using iTunes.

My question is - how many times are you allowed to "burn" a song to audio CD and/or backup disc before iTunes will stop me.

Also, is there any restriction in the number of times I can copy a song to my iPod (Shuffle, 2nd Generation) after it has been deleted off the iPod or the iPod has been re-formatted, etc.

Many thanks,

Steve.

There is no restriction to the number of times a song can be burnt, however there is a limit to the number of times a playlist can (5 I think). There is a simple way around this - just recreate the playlist with a different name, or change it then change it back (can't quite remember which or if both work but either way it's not a problem).

I thought the restrictions applied to purchased songs, and nothing else?

they do - if you're making your compilation CDs from tracks imported into iTunes from your own CDs, then there are no limits.

as for number of times you can transfer things - no limits there either, except you can only have legally purchased tracks on a maximum of 5 (possibly 7?) devices at any given time.

a lot of people don't like DRM, but in most cases you can still do pretty much anything you'd reasonably want to anyway.
