Hi all,

recently bought a Sony RDRHX725 DVD Recorder with 160Gb HD from Ebuyer. The main problem has been with trying to get the Guide Plus+ EPG to appear with the listings from the Sky Digital Pace box!

I've left the sky on Eurosport which apparently is the host channel to download the guide, left it overnight, but still no guide plus+. I have to think that possibly the way I've connected it up with scarts is wrong??!?

I've been piecing together information I've found on the web to sort it but to no avail - aaargh!!!

It's a Sony bravia LCD with 2 scarts, the Sky box has 2 scarts and the DVD Recorder has 2 scarts.

Any advice on how it should be connected through the scarts and help on finally getting the Guide Plus+ to work would be much appreciated.

cheers
Dave

Sky TV scart (bottom one) ---> Sony DVDR AV2
Sony DVDR AV1 ---> TV AV1

Surely the Guide Plus info comes from the terrestrial digital signal into tour Sony not from the Sky box. Users without sky still have use of a free digital TV guide.

Make sure you have your external aeriel plugged into the back of the DVDR. You only need to connect the RF cable from the DVDR to the TV if you wish to watch or record over RF (I suspect that you wont.)

To watch Sky while the DVDR is recording another terrestrial digital channel you could connect a scart from the Sky VCR socket to the TV AV2.

You only need this if your DVDR does not allow the satellite signal to pass through while the DVDR is recording. Some recorders do this with a button called SATMON (satellite monitor).
