Nicky mentioned he had spoken to his mum about the European championships when he was commentating on Eurosport recently - so don't think there is still (if ever there was) a rift.

Also he was sitting next to Karen during Defrosted yesterday - body language was abit remote but I recall she did smile across at him for one of his comments - maybe thats resolved (or was never an issue anyway) too.

Barber and Slater were lovely imo opinion but unfortunately for them the British public expected them to have the innovation/high skill level of Torvill and Dean and as we know there are not many legends of that class around in the world - so the expectation was too high.
