Ipod Sound Query - Old & New

Ok so Ive had an old Ipod mini silver since 2004 and it never let me down but at Christmas i decided to get a new ipod blue nano which i LOVE

but...

The sound on my old ipod is alot louder than that on my new one and i like my music loud!! Ive adjusted the sound levels on itunes and in my music folder on itunes to + 100% and on the ipod itself ive taken off the volume control but the sound is no where near as loud as on my previous one.

Can anything be done to get my new one playing as loud as my old?!

Hope you can understand!!
Cheers

I recently bought a nano to replace my old mini and the volume on my new one is much better.

A solution could be to buy some headphones with volume controls, set the volume on your ipod to max while the volume on your headphones is at it's lowest. This should mean you can get the volume louder.

in-ear headphones might be the answer for you

I was doing some random searching the other day and came across a couple of programs which claim to do the job:

goPod

euPod

Apparently EU iPod models have a built in volume limiter which can be removed with the above.
To be honest though I downloaded both but never got round to trying them so not sure if they work

Enjoy being deaf then in a few years. Limiters are there for a reason you know. I don't have my music any higher than 6, and the max on my Zen is 25. And I find that level (6) quite loud enough and perfectly clear and doesn't distort which it will at higher levels.

Exactly. Ears are sensitive things and once damage happens then it's permanent.

Depends what type of headphones you use. Whilst setting the volume to 100% on my iPod would be far too loud for me with the included earbuds, it just about provides enough drive for my Sennheiser HD650s for listening in a quiet room.

Cheers for that going to try it, will let you know what happens!!

For the others, thanks for your concern but I wanted it louder than what mine currently is, not the loudest!
