Re: Co-Channel Interference
Hi all
If there is anyone, who reads this, who is to do with TV Transmitters etc. I wondered if you could answer the following?. I used to live at Erith in Kent, I was on an estate, where we had a communial aerial system. However, in 1993, after enquiring with the council, and finding out that I could have my own aerial installed. I called an installer in, however, instead of pointing the aerial towards London, which the communial aerial was on. He pointed the aerial to Bluebell Hill[Meridian]. And the same applies, where I live now[Leadgate], in Co.Durham, just across from the Pontop Pike Transmitter. Instead of pointing the aerial to Pontop Pike, my aerial, and others on my estate, is pointed to Bilsdale. However, the problem with this, is that we get Co-Channel Interference. Now I do know, that there is no solution, however, can I just ask, if you have experimented with things such as decreasing the power of the transmitter[Input and Output]?. If this has not been done, can I suggest, that this is experimented with, the next time there is Co-Channel Interference on a transmitter?. |

any overlap of an area where the signals meet you will have an obvious overlap. you can get things to block out certain frequencies but i wouldnt bother.
go digital and get a freeview box. problem solved. probaly cost the same anyway with money, blood, sweat and tears. |
