I think it is a guess I might be guessing to , I installed twin record v1.0 but I was not happy with it so I changed it back to v 4.9 single record
the fact that it overwrote the twin software should indicate that its might not be a memory issue although this was upgraded through the rs232 port.
It might be a bug in the twin record software preventing the download because of the checksum difference .

I also overwrote v1.0 with v4.9, but it might be that v5.3 uses more memory than v4.9, and that, combined with the extra memory that v1.0 uses, might be just taking the requirements over the top. If I get bored tomorrow, I might have a play and see if I can go back from v5.3 to v1.0.

When the software is downloading, I wonder if it needs memory to store the new update before it overwrites the previous version. If you are trying to update from dual record, there might not be enough memory to store the update and it could be stalling because of this.”

I've had dual-record on and off over the last few weeks. I had it on when I first tried to update this morning but, when it had stalled for over an hour, I cancelled and re-installed the 4.9 software. Unfortunately, it was no different. A couple of times, when it stalled, the box was completely locked up and had to unplug it from the mains. I'll have another try tomorrow.

I had the same the first few times I tried the OTA update, tried it again tonight (at about 6:30ish) for the 4th or 5th time and it worked. Admittedly I only gave it around 10 mins the first few times and about 25 mins this time.

I left it to it on Sunday morning and it eventally downloaded. I was busy around the house but I think I heard it revert to the normal programme channel after about two hours.

I'm guessing that the Digihome tuners aren't as sensitive as the Humax's and weren't seeing the 87% signal that the Humax was seeing.

I OTA downloaded 5.3 on Saturday - I can't see any difference between the new version and 4.9 (menus are exactly the same - I was hoping at the very least that the "tagging" feature might have been added to the HD library).
