The Bill - Would Sun Hill Survive After Zain`s Treachery?
We have been told that either Sun Hill or Barton Street will have to close. In all honesty after the major c**k up of Zain being under cover which resulted in three people including a policewoman being killed would Sun Hill be chosen to remain open?

If this were real life then probably not. However, we're supposed to suspend disbelief while watching a police programme with so many character deaths so taking it one step futher to believe it would survive isn't too much of a stretch.

If it was true to life then it would be a "no brainer" - i.e. close down the station which has least public confidence, after all - the incumbent Superintendant is always going on about bad press, complaints from the local councillors re lack of police presence etc.

Even before Honey's death Sun Hill should have been renamed Boot Hill. More police officers must have been murdered there in the last decade than in the rest of the entire police force. The county constabulary where I live has 'lost' just two officers on duty in the last ten years and they died in road accidents. |

Jack Meadows and Phil Hunter would almost certainly be hauled up in front of a disciplinary and would most likely lose their jobs. Particularly as Phil knew about Zain sleeping with Kristen.
But don't forget that most of Sunhill CID were sacked after the Don Beech fiasco. |

But don't forget that most of Sunhill CID were sacked after the Don Beech fiasco. They wouldn't risk getting rid of a whole bunch of characters, particularly popular ones like Jack, Phil and Sam. I think lessons have been learned from the CID clear out of 2000. It appears from reading spoilers that Sun Hill's future could be saved and Zain's antics might not have much of an impact. To be honest, The Bill doesn't really do the consequences of these types of storylines very well anymore. We've had Hunter's, Bradford's and Kent's antics exposed, but nothing has been done about it, particularly Hunter's. Zain might be the only one to face some justice, but I doubt there will be a huge fall-out over it. A few slapped wrists (maybe). |

of course - I wasn't suggesting that they'd clear out CID again! I wouldn't want them to anyway as it's at it's strongest in quite a while IMO.

I agree, I like CID at the moment. It's a pity that we're losing Zain and Kezia is still there ( |

In reality Sun Hill would face closure due to all the mishaps over the past months/years!
But if Sun Hill was to close, would there be any more Bill??? Considering The Bill is based around Sun Hill & that Gillian Taylforths Character has apparently just joined Sun Hill from Barton Street, you'd think that it was Barton Street set to close! Rock On Sun Hill - You Brighten My Week Was sad when Honey got killed by that evil witch Kristin! I think Zain should hand her in!!! |

Shall we do a list of who has died in recent years? from the top of my head i can think of:
*Honey *Cass *Kerry *Des *John Boulton *Marylin *people in the explosion- names escape me apart from Sam Harker *Eddie Santine All of these characters have been killed in a malicios way, none of these deaths have been accidental apart from maybe Des' but that was only an accident in the sense he was put in a cell with a mad person by accident |

ye, i think they played it really well, they did evil family perfectly. the fact that the head of the family was the mom made it even better, i know in this day and age men and women are meant to be equal (grrr i hate all this PC crap!) but you expect a woman to be less evil that a man could be. this was completly the opposite of what we saw.
In all fairness i thought they also did the sun hill serial killer storyline excelently!!! even if it did mean the loss of Cass

While Paul Marquess was Exec. producer there was a death nearly every episode!
It's calmed down since Paul Young took over though. Honeys is the first death in over a year ![]() The Bills currently more credable then ever sinse 2002 realy. |
