Monday 29 January 7.30 - 8pm ITV1

The Barlows want David (Jack P Shepherd) at the police station as soon as possible after his claims that he saw Tracy kill Charlie in self defence. But Gail (Helen Worth) says she needs to talk to him alone first as Sarah (Tina O'Brien) reminds her he could be up to his old tricks. Gail does her best with David, explaining the questions he'll have to answer in court, but David's sticking to his
story and Gail's forced to assure everyone she believes him. As they arrive at the station Gail is still wishing that David is lying so how will he react when faced with the seriousness of his claims?

Meanwhile, Tracy's (Kate Ford) been granted bail and the Barlows are thrilled to have her back on the street. But as Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) excitedly reveals the news about David, Tracy starts to worry as she contemplates what he actually may have seen.

Elsewhere, Kelly (Tupele Dorgu) still reckons Liam (Rob James-Collier) fancies her despite last night's distinct lack of interest. But when he catches Joanne (Zaraah Abrahams) alone at the factory it quickly becomes clear who he's really interested in and as goes to kiss her, Joanne doesn't put up much of a fight.

Les (Bruce Jones) is determined to win Chesney (Sam Aston) back round and invites him over to the Battersbys' for lunch. But when he arrives only to overhear Les and Cilla (Wendi Peters) arguing he's upset at being the cause of another row and gladly goes back to school. Have Les and Cilla blown their chance again?

And as Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) dig out items for Becky's (Katherine Kelly) car boot sale they comes across some old comics which Roy realises could be quite valuable. But will he be prepared to part with them?

This episode of Coronation Street is written by Peter Whalley, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Pip Short. Coronation Street is made by ITV Productions.

07:30 Episode

Monday 29 January 8.30 - 9pm ITV1

Tracy's (Kate Ford) determined to find out exactly what David (Jack P Shepherd) saw despite her family's warnings that she shouldn't be talking to potential witnesses. David meanwhile is giving his evidence to the police and when he says Charlie attacked him twice his story suddenly becomes more convincing. Back on the street he warns Maria (Samia Smith) to expect a visit from the police and when they arrive to question her about Charlie's attacks on David, Tracy finally gets hold of David herself. Demanding to know what he saw, Tracy soon realises he's lying and could be used to her advantage.

Meanwhile, Jodie Morton (Samantha Seager) arrives on the street with her Granddad to inspect the empty bakery, a site she'd paid Charlie to renovate for her. Having received a surprise payment from another client, Jason (Ryan Thomas) claims he's up to the job, but Jodie warns him she expects some serious progress by the end of the week. Has Jason bitten off more than he can chew?

Joanne is (Zaraah Abrahams) nervous of getting into a relationship with her boss but Liam's (Rob James-Collier) very persuasive and she finds it impossible to resist. But will she be able to resist telling the other factory girls about her conquest?

And Roy is (David Neilson) gutted when he realises Becky (Katherine Kelly) has taken his precious comic collection to the car boot sale, especially when she returns with a new coat.

This episode of Coronation Street is written by John Fay, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Pip Short. Coronation Street is made by ITV Productions.

A decent start to tonight's two episodes.

The Chesny storyline was actually better tonight, mainly due to Cilla complaining about Les's views on how they should get Chesney back. I loved the way that she responded to his suggestion about sausages & chips by labelling it "posh food" lol! The fact that they were too busy arguing to notice Chesney had opened the front door was predictable but amusing.

I also enjoyed the Platt discussion about David at the start of the episode as well as Gail telling him that she was hoping he'd been lying because she doesn't want him to go through being questioned by the police & then having to stand up & tell his story in court. Proof, if David needed any, that Gail does really care about him, but all he's bothered about at the moment is causing as more trouble & being as awkward as possible.
Maria & Donk's argument was good too, although how Donk can lecture anyone about any choices that they make when she's made so many bad choices of her own defies belief.

Steve's expressions when Tracy came into Streetcars were amusing. His comments about everyone being on her side didn't sound 100% convincing though.

Quite liked Hayley's turnaround when Roy suggested that they could use the proceeds from the comics to buy something that she wanted.

Not bothered at all about the Liam / Joanne storyline. Joanne has about as much personality a lump of wood so quite what Liam sees in her is a bit of a mystery.

8 out of 10.

Bad editing with the argument between Les and Cilla. We saw them shouting at each other with Chesney at the front door, then it cut to the exterior shot with Chesney and Fiz, and we heard a portion of the argument that we'd just seen in the kitchen!

It's ludicrous that someone on a murder charge would be released on bail, particularly to a house right opposite the murder scene and in the vicinity of all the possible witnesses.

David's hair gets more and more strange with each passing episode.

He said he was in the garden playing football then kicked his ball over , but earlier in the show u saw him look through the window and he saw the kitchen drawer that tracey pulled out on the floor , so he tells the police he saw charlie go in there and get a knife then go back into the front room.

AMAZING EPISODE TONIGHT.

LOVED the conversation between David and Tracy, which resulted in David knowing it was on purpose, and Tracy knowing David's lying, but both keeping very careful in their words, with the cunning smiles saying E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. For David, this is no longer an attention-seeking-lie, it is a murderous-scheme! Amazing acting from both of them.

And lucky Joanne eh?

I really liked the new girl, she looks like she has very good potential. She was on Loose Women today and said that Diggory had popped his clogs - has this been mentioned? The Grandad's acting wasn't upto much, he reminded me of Granda Ashworth in Hollyoaks!

I was quite pleasantly surprised with Jodie's character. Let's hope that Dev's over acting doesn't spoil her scenes! I see some great comedy potential between her and Amber.
