I have to say that working funny shifts that I do! (5days on 4 days off) that there are occasions when I am at home during the day.

I have to say that during the day there is nothing on TV!!!!

And with HC I always thought that with VOD there would always be stuff to watch! But there really is not!

What I am getting is that every digital TV provider now offers a PVR! Freeview, BT, Virgin media, Sky etc etc

Last night, Family guy was on at 0030hrs on BBC2 (far to late to stay up and watch) The other night "another 48hrs" was on ITV2, a classic film I have not seen for ages, my list goes on!

The point I am trying to make is with a PVR all these things could have been recorded and then of course I could sit down on my days off and I could watch these programmes/TV that I have missed! It really would be TV I controlled!

But with HC this will never happen!

If this does not happen with Tiscali I will be leaving!

PVR is the way of the future and HC/Tiscali need to keep up!

I think you are right...

.....the issue with buying a PVR yourself is that (nearly) all on the market only work with FreeView. I am lucky enough to have a TiVo which works well with HC - I basically watch everything via TiVo using HC merely as my programme source.

BTW - just found this on the SKY website!

"Coming soon to your TV - the pick of the week's TV ready for you to watch when you want, including the latest movies and entertainment."

Looks like forced VoD, with the option of Sky+ to enhance with your own recordings!

Yeah, Sky's VOD is served up on a daily basis, but they choose the programmes. Check out a video of it in action here, doesn't launch til March though, at which point Tiscali TV / Homechoice will be well on the way to going national, and with their own PVR..... YIPPEE!!
