Well guys, i have £20 to burn and i want to buy a new region 1 release. Has anyone got any recommendations? I have already preordered fight club, sixth sense and the world is not enough. What are the other latest films with decent extra features, DTS or DD5.1 and good picture. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the idea but i've already got the Matrix and seen Austun Powers 2 in the cinema. The matrix, even though the commentary is good, has got excellent sound. Any other ideas?

Austin Powers 2 is crammed with extras.
But The Matrix, while lacking in extras (has a dull commentary or two) it has the "White Rabbit" feature which'll let you see how they made a particular scene. White Rabbit pops up, you press enter, done. |

How about 'The Bone Collector' ? An entertaining thriller, the disc has both DD5.1 and DTS 5.1 soundtracks, director's commentary track, behind-the-scenes documentary, and a trailer. Well worth buying.

Dark City is one of my personal favourites.
Decent extras, good transfer and very slick film. Some may not like it, but those who enjoyed the twisted realities of The Matrix or The Crow will definitely enjoy it. |

I bought 2001 from a Canadian site, as it isn't availabe in the UK. Its a good transfer - anamorphic and has got a new DD5.1 soundtrack.

If you feel like spending a fortune the three-disc Criterion Brazil is fantastic - although non-anamorphic the transfer is brilliant, and you get the full directors cut version of the film, a disc full of documentaries and extras, a commentary, and the studio "love conquers all" version of the film - a very interesting view of what some subtle and some not so subtle editing techniques can do to a film.
Oh, sixth sense has just come out too. Probably very good. |

Even better, it is now available as a Blu-Ray release and is available to buy from a UK based retailer: http://www.amazon.co.uk/2001-Space-O.../dp/B0013K1190
