I don't even know who is producing it? Network I assume? Ans it's a shame the Elsie Tanner eps are already released on the boxsets!

It sounds like things like trailers, interviews etc... which could be considered rare. A DVD of extras perhaps?

ooh, great minds think alike Matt That Elsie Tanner DVD seems a bit pointless if it's the same eps.

I wonder what will be on the 'Rarities' set? Interviews and suchforth?

I assume so. When they were casting the show they did dry runs with different actors, they would be amazing to see but aparently they are missing!

heres some info i found on the dvd from play.com

Coronation Street was first broadcast in December of 1960 and since then has gone from strength to strength in establishing itself as the nation's favourite soap opera. With a more light hearted slant on the genre, Coronation Street has always drawn viewers from across the generations and its longevity is tribute to it's across the board appeal. On this DVD we take a look back at some of the most memorable and rare scenes from this stalwart of British soaps.

Things have been showed as delayed on Play before the Network site, the 60's set for example!
