LG LCD TV scart switching
pyrie
30-01-2007
Having made the delightful step up to a nice 32" LCD LG screen I was suprised to find that the idea of scart switching (ie the device switching on switches the TV to that AV input) no longer functions..

Is this the norm?

It doesn't bother me at all..It just I've had to educate the rest of the family as what device is on what AV input.... tedious

Works fine on my LG 26.

None of Lg models have an automatic input switch. You have to select the input manually on the remotecontrol.

Works on every TV, it's part of the SCART spec - although the spec is pretty vague, and different manufacturers interpret it differently.

I thought the same.

I got my replacement TV this morning, again, SCART switching works fine

Hi chaps,

I have a 42LT7 and have a similar problem. This model has a hard drive to record and pause live TV and I think the problem may be related to this. The manual is an inch thick although it is in twenty languages! The manual on disc refers to when it will and will not record the programme being watched or on timer and is complicated. The long and short of it seems to be that scart switching only seems to work in analogue mode as selected by the D/A input button not the input with the rectangle with an arrow symbol. In this setting scart switching works as we would expect, not any other. I think this is to enable the recording protocol to work as advertised otherwise I suspect the watched channel would change and the wrong recordings result.

My views are not quite right but with a few others contributing we should sort it if it is sortable!

Best wishes,

Mike.

Scart switching doesn't work on mt LG 27inch LCD TV.

Not too bothered really, it only takes a second or two to switch it manually.

I have a LG37LC2DB model and have to do the switching manually. You get used to it after a while. And my scarts are fully wired.
I dont see it as a problem

Why are you bothered about scart switching? There are 2 scart sockets, 1 RGB PC in, 3 HDMI and 1 component. Surely you are going to be using the HDMI as first choice for full HD. As for as I am aware switching does not work with HDMI, component or RGB PC so why have it for scart.
