EE departures confusion
The Mirror reported a few weeks ago that Naomi Julien (Petra Letang) is leaving EastEnders. Also, people are saying that Kevin Wicks (Phil Daniels) is leaving also; because the spoilers say his character does a runner... but there's been no official confirmation on either, and Digital Spy hasn't reported them...
Can anyone clear this up? Maybe Kris could do a Soap Scoop about it? *hint, hint* |

Naomi has been axed. This was in Inside Soap this week. We can only hope Kevin is leaving along with his useless son Deano.
http://img24.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp0..._122_118lo.jpg There is also talk in the Daily Star 3 more people could be set to join Naomi. My bets are on Gus, Deano and Keith. |

Deano won't leave. I think the actor is good.
I have heard that Big Mo is leaving- dont say this is true. |

Well he has been suspended but I reckon once his contract is up they will ditch him.
I hope not I love this character. We don't know much about him yet. Unless they say axed though they may be classing him as one of the three. They won't get shut of Deano he's too popular, it will be some of the less popular characters. Last edited by Rysen : 31-01-2007 at 10:38. |

I hope they don't get rid of Keef - his knowledge is brilliant. The way he talks and brings up useless facts is funny.

I think any of the following characters are strong possibilities: Charlie, Gus, Minty, Keith, Deano, Carly, Mickey, Bert and (by association with Keith) Darren.
I would have included Garry in that list as well, but seeing as his mother is joining the show soon it seems he will be sticking around for a while longer. I'd love the three axe victims to include Sean Slater and Dawn Swann, but I don't think that's very likely. |

I don't think Deaons gonna be axed... the new producer has said he's been impressed with him since the car crash and to expect more.
My money's on Gus, Minty and Garry |

I'm surprised they've axed Naomi, not that she has any storyline or anything since the Sonia fiasco. It's just that they've done the buying the flat together story, so why do that when she's leaving. Who would they get ot buy a third of a flat?????
Oh, wait a minute, Gary's mum's coming and she's supposed to have an affair with Minty, so maybe she buys Naomi's third, settles in to life with the new man and her son, all under the same roof

Sean is only temporarily axed. The character has alot of potential if they develop his relationship with his sister and mother and explore his past (Iraq is a topic other soaps have avoided), and the Slater family is getting thin on the ground, so let's keep Mo too. Leila Morse did not say she would leave anytime soon, she just said she would not do it forever. I think Derek Martin and Leila will stay as long as Lacey stays. Hopefully they will bring Jean in during his absence. I could happily watch a whole episode of EE with just Stacey and Jean interacting.
Bert I don't think is going to be axed, as Jay is coming into it soon. I will not be surprised if he is paired with Mo long-term and beefs up the Slaters. Deano may have been on the hit list, but he is safe now I reckon. Garry may be given a new lease of life by his mum's arrival. I would keep Patrick and Yolande. Give them storylines or at least involve them in other people's storylines. Naomi (axed) Mickey (danger) Gus (danger) Darren (danger) Dawn (possible) Keith (likely) I would suggest to Santer giving Minty and Garry more serious material whilst giving the likes of Stacey, Chelsea, Deano, Kevin, Sean etc some light-hearted storylines just for a change. They should have more varied stories for the characters, not some people being always unhappy and others always providing the comedy. |

I think the likelyhood of Rob and May leaving are high, when the love triange comes to a close they won't be there for long is my guess. |

I think they might be getting lots of people out and planning for a new family.
After the departures of Joe, Pauline, Martin, Sonia, Rebecca and Naomi, with only Hazel Hobbs and Jay Atkinson joining, it seems like a bit uneven! Last edited by me-jimbob : 03-02-2007 at 21:05. |
