He went on holiday recently so probably got a tan like most other people do when they go somewhere sunny

I didn't think he'd been off screen long enough recently to have been on holiday. They don't usually give them a holiday til a storylines finished, and his hasn't. When this storylines over he'll disappear for a while to have his months holiday that they usually get when they've had a long storyline.
And he didn't have this tan a couple of weeks ago. It's obviously make up of some kind, whether fake tan or not. Maybe it's to cover some acne!

Well they have a break over Christmas and I'm sure I read somewhere that he went away.

I think these eps were filmed straight after the Christmas break, as I noticed a few things that seemed a bit different, like hair and lighting.

I am worse - I thought Emo was the one out of Sesame Street and couldn't understand why anyone would have him as a fashion icon!!! But David did indeed show off his new haircut last nite - and fake tan - even though no-one as usual noticed in his family!!!
