Some rumours in the Daily Mirror suggest Natalie Cassidy, who has just left EastEnders after playing Sonia Fowler, is hotly wanted by the producers for the next series.

Is anyone planning on leaving? IIRC, it's usually someone who's just left/is leaving while SCD is being aired/leaves not long after.

Nice to see the producers are thinking outside the box - NOT!

If only they'd choose someone from a programme I actually watch. Can't they get someone from Waking the Dead, Spooks, Life on Mars, etc if it has to be a bbc prog?

Don't watch either Georgine was enough to convince me I made the right decision!

Is Michael French still on it?

I would guess its more to do with filming schedules than anything.

Please do not let her on, otherwise I will start a petition to make a 'vote to evict' option when voting.

This might say a lot about me but I would use that option more than the positive vote!

This is very un 'sisterly' of me to say this, and I am certainly not slim and gorgeous myself (very far from it), BUT you cannot be a successful or watchable dancer if you're all lumpen and heavy. And, I'm sorry, but Natalie C is lumpen and heavy. Its great and fine that she doesn't have a problem with it - that's cool - BUT she won't make much of a dancer. She also seems just a little bit too pleased with herself much of the time.

In short, noooooooooo to Natalie C for SCD!! Sorry Sonia.
(Now she'll probably partner my beloved Vincent, lose 4 stone and win the series. That'll teach me!)

In this weeks OK Ian and camilla are in the restauranty/meal part.Ian says he's never danced with anyone short and would like to dance with Dawn French as it would be a laugh (or words to that effect).

I presume that would probably mean the first showdance in history where the woman has lifted the man. I can just see Ian poised on Dawn's hand like Karen was on Mark's at the start of their showdance. That is if Ian's head doesn't actually go through the ceiling with him being so tall.

I have to agree and also there should be an 'upper age'-I can say that as I wouldn't make the cut!

All the celebs should look as though they have a chance and even then you don't know who's going to be good. Carol Vordeman could have been a Jill Halfpenny on appearances and it's interesting to see how they are and develop but you just know that people like Gloria Honeyford and Jimmy Tarbuck are just making up the numbers and haven't got a hope. It must be awful for the dancers when they see they've got a no hoper.

Another thought(better than getting ready for work!)- wonder if any consideration is given to what sort of celeb a dancer is given according to who they had last time, to sort of redress the balance. Darren had Jill then Gloria then Emma. I think they should. I think it's time Anton got a really good celeb so we can see if he has a hope in the Latin dances.

Now I'm all excited about next year and wont be able to concentrate at work.

I've thought that. My heart sank when I saw Erin paired with Schmeichal (that's probably spelt wrong) even though he comes across as a great character, it was clear he was not "winning" material. The same with Anton and Jan Ravens.

I think you're right, and as well as taking height into account, I think the pros definitely take turns in being allocated the younger, fitter, partners. Having said that, it still doesn't mean that they will have any rhythm!

Anton must be due a good draw next year; also Nicole. If I was Karen or Lillia I'd be worried!!

Yeah especially Lilia, however I was always under the impression that the beeb thought they'd given Lilia a bit of a duffer with Darren (since he's not a small guy) but then he shocked everyone (well me at least) and danced v.well and won.
I think Flavia should get a good draw next series, since she didn't really get to do anything with Jimmy.

I think Flavia and Nicole deserve really good partners, Nicole's had bad luck twice, and Flavia well, it was doomed from the start!

Nicole definitely should get the person with the most potential. She's had really bad luck so far.

I wonder how they decide what is "fair" and what isn't- in the example of either Ola or Camilla, they had partners considered to have a lot of potential but still went out early for whatever reason. Should they get "good" partners again or have they had their turn?

I never got the shock of Ola or Camilla going out, they were both bottom or near the bottom of the leader board on those respective nights and never thought a lot of their performances to make me want to save them.

But yeah I really want to see Nicole and Flavia dance so someone half decent please!

I would have liked Spoony to stay longer, but I wasn't hugely bothered about Ray. But it just made me think, because at the start of the show, everyone was talking about Ray, Spoony and Mark being the ones to watch, and then only one of them made it past week six! So do Ola and Camilla deserve to get another strong contender on the grounds that they got knocked out early, or a dud on the grounds that they had so much potential to work with this time?
